One thing we could do is to have people upload their own videos and to have a master channel with playlists of the other people's videos?
hmmm, I like that! My only problem is that
who would make the master channel?

Let's hit the pause button for one moment. It's great that you are all so excited about my workshop idea, but please do not jump to conclusions and make decisions. I threw out this idea as a fellow coder, not a thread mod. Just because I came up with it, doesn't mean it's going to happen. Me and the other thread mods still have to discuss this idea and odds are, it would take a while to get up and running if we even decided to do it.
I'm seeing people making their own Youtube accounts for their own little workshops. This is not what I intended. If we all have a bunch of Youtube accounts streaming all the time, this idea would likely turned into a jumbled mess. Also, streams would only have one to two viewers, if any, since there would be so many channels to choose from. It simply wouldn't work as well as having one stream account. Now, I can't stop you all from making your own channels and doing whatever you wish with them. I'd just like to say, that the thread would only promote mine which would be the official one for the thread. Now, if this was to be made on youtube, I can make a tutorial playlist for videos you decide to make. Again, I'm speaking as a coder when I say this. Nothing said here is set in stone. These are just ideas that need to be discussed with the thread mods.
Not to mention, the CS staff would have to approve this idea before we did anything. Many people think that because the Chicken Smoothie people are on a different website, there are now no rules to follow. This is not true. We'd still have to follow all Tess's rules on the stream just like we do on the thread. I urge you all not to do anything public until the idea is approved by staff.
I apologize if this message seems rude in any shape or form, as that was not my intention. I'm not shutting down conversation when I say this either. You are welcome to continue talking about ideas and such, but don't go as far as to make it reality without consulting ZeyDaan, lem-nis-cate, Irisid, and myself first. We need to discuss all ideas before approving any. Thank you for reading this and carry on with whatever you were doing before.
This post doesn't apply to ahsoka who already has a YouTube channel for signatures. c:

Sorry for posting again so soon, but I'm making signatures if anyone would like to watch. I can also answer any questions anyone has and show anything people want to know how to do! This isn't a workshop or anything, just a join.me because I'm bored and need to do commissions for my shop!
edit; All done!

Just to tack on from what Kristen said, our position as thread mods is difficult. We were given permission to run this thread a year ago provided that the following never happens:
- Promotion of elitism
- Arguments over elitist content
- Constant breakages of site rules
- Negativity as a whole like there was in SS or DC
Mods need to go through a lengthy thought process when it comes to making ideas and or otherwise. It's difficult to weave through and find ideas and more often than not we need to ask mods for permission for even a rule change.
It is just flimsy. But it is understandable. We are happy to see the community florish compared to how bitter it was two years ago or so when only a selected few could sit on top of a mountain and that was it. I prefer a party in a wide open plains where anyone could come and celebrate.
We are doing well as a whole. And there is a huge risk with this YouTube thing. Especially the streaming portion. You are probably better off having a join me instead just in case things happen and or otherwise.
YouTube could still be there for video tutorials if necessary. Personally I don't see this as necessary at all, considering that DD has it all sorted.
In regards to me running the YouTube channel if it is main, I really don't have the time. I am part of the following as of right now:
- Neglected updates of DD
- Neglecting updates of Sig shop guide (Which got pinned nice)
- Adopt a newbie
- My own signature shop
- Coding education for myself
- Veteran coder contest
I am pretty packed. And this is based on CS stuff. I am about to get a full time job as a Graphic Design Artist (Hopefully) And that in itself involves a lot of work from home stuff which will infringe on my time on CS as well. I mean, I am barely helping on the forum on DD anymore because of all of these responsibilities. It is just getting a bit over the top.
I don't mean to rant, as that isn't my intention. I intend to inform and hopefully explain why I can't take everything. I hope that I can balance what I have now. I miss helping people on DD and DD would sink if it wasn't for users helping out.
In addition. Are there any protests against the rules being changed to guidelines? Because if not, I am going to go ahead and change the post so it has these as guidelines. We can then go from there and see how this change helps the thread.

i think changing it to guidelines would definitely give that more relaxed feeling people were going for, while still being there to encourage good behavior (thats an odd way to word it haha). im pretty excited to see how things will change around here, since its been a lot more active (even if we are just discussing rules atm..).
so for DD responsibilities... dont be afraid to push some on me, zey! at least, ones i could probably complete. anything to help you out!
moving on to a question, because i like this one...
Do you order code from other people's shops or strictly make your own work?
ive never ordered from a sig shop actually. ive always done my own work, tho sometime i might? its interesting to see people's takes on things!

popping in to say, it's great that you guys are making an effort in creating a chill community.
even though i'm not very active anymore, i was there for the first thread and i'd rather not see that repeat
so keep doing what you do, things will work out! \o/ and to answer the question above:
do you order code from other people's shops or strictly make your own work?
i only care about signatures because the image editing is fun, so i don't really order, haha

Um, I basically agree with everything gods said.
I completely agree with them being guidelines (though I will probably still do that out of sheer force of habit), and I think it will help to bring in many new people.
Also as gods said, I would love to help out on DD if the need ever arose.
EDIT: As I have a couple of orders to complete for my shop and I need motivation, here's a link to my livestream! I know it's at an inconvenient time for some people, but I hope to see you there nonetheless!
EDIT 2: The livestream is now over! During that time, I was able to complete two wonderful signature orders. Thank you to those who tuned in!
