Signing Off: A Signature Fanclub - Come Join!

ooo I was bored and started thinking about signatures and stuff and I say Zey's Adopt a Newbie Post and I thought: what if a bunch of the veteran coders went and made a bunch of YouTube videos to teach newbies how each coding thing works? and then I started thinking about how it would work and junk, but I won't bore you with that.


here's my question to you veteran coders (and everyone else):

Not just tutorials either. we could also have featured signatures, and I can make it so you guys can add videos of you making different signatures and stuff.

In reference to my prior post about a shared YouTube channel, I have taken it upon myself to create a YouTube channel and start messing around with livestreaming and whatnot, trying to figure out how this would actually work. This was partially discussed in gods' most recent stream. I already have an account set up and will be doing various tests on it for coding tutorials (figuring out how it would be most effective to do these), image manipulation tutorials (same goes for this), and the like. I will also be experimenting with livestreaming and seeing how that would play out and, again, how to make the best of them. If anyone has any recommendations, feel free to PM me.
I won't be publicly sharing my channel until I think it is ready presentation-wise and am able to start posting tutorials. I may be asking for help from people who are willing to rate the tutorials based on how effective it is while being fairly concise and not taking up too much time.

@Zey, by coder of the week, do you mean the thing where we could have individuals doing a q&a or the pre-existing one? I'm slightly confused?

Someone mentioned this idea in the thread somewhere, and I replied what I thought of it, it's a good idea in theory, but in practicality, it could start arguments. Besides, people can answer things on the thread or in PM anyway.

In regards to the Youtube Channel stuff, they somewhat belong in Digitally Distinct, though unless anyone has anything else to add, you can ask for requests here.

I can't, I don't have the time. Reason is DD already exists, I have my hands tied running that, updating and otherwise. I have IRL stuff as well.

It is already worth mentioning someone has already started this, I think ahsoka has a channel.

I will speak to mods about it, however as of right now no Youtube channel will have official endorsements from this this thread or DD unless there is a conversation that takes place between creator of the Youtube Channel and some minor notes are spoken about.

Please PM me about this, it is something that came with the whole 'you can make a sig fanclub' guideline we were given two years ago.

Sorry, but I can't. I can't make videos for
the love of me and I can't show tutorials
that way. I love to help people, but I prefer
to do it personally rather than through a tutorial
video, in all honesty.

for the interview thing and also adopt a
newbie. You're right about how it's good in
theory, but there may be some problems.
As for Adopt a Newbie, maybe this could be an
extension to DD instead of this club. It makes more
sense.

In all honesty, I prefer to make my own work.
Buuuut, I will order stamps and maybe something
from my friends shop if he/she had one :3c

I actually already have a YouTube signature tutorial, but then again I tend to procrastinate so a proper channel for them might be useful.

Yes. Unfortunately there could be a ton of problems that develop in the idea. Good in theory, unfortunately not as well with practical influence. But the Adopt a Newbie idea is a great one and it looks like everyone and their grandmother is on board with it!

With that said, The AAN would most likely have to happen here, though it doesn't really make sense for it to do so. I have 20 posts of DD already filled up with various information, and I am not entirely sure as to how it could hold for more room. This same situation lead for me to make this thread (which got pinned and I am so happy oh gosh thanks mods!)

We have 9/10 posts on the front of this thread which isn't used, and therefore we can use them. (If we want we can over-ride Fall's post, but I rather not, I owe my coding life to Falls.) I don't think the Mods would be too happy with a separate forum for this as well, where this thread can be more than accommodating for it. (Even though this would be practical, we already have at least 6 threads for coding needs, soon to be 7)

I could push my luck with getting an adopt a newbie code thread approved by mods, but I highly doubt it would be given the green light considering anyone can learn how to code when they read Digitally Distinct. (This would be the reason given I am sure of it)

But, I will keep this all in mind and see where we go. I am going to be totally offline for the next few days, but I will be able to do stuff once I get back.

I make my own stuff. No reason, I just like using myself as a guinea pig to develop skills.

I thought you did. I was wondering how that was going.
I am worried though, if a ton of users make a Youtube account it would just end up as a cluttered mess. I was also somewhat concerned with how to implement a Youtube channel to Digitally Distinct. I haven't done this yet because there is no reason to and the tutorials there seem to be fine enough.

haha, sure. i already have my
own youtube channel for
speedpaints and the like,
so i know the mechanics
of youtube pretty well.
i also have camtasia studios,
which is a great recorder :^)
while i wouldn't call myself a
veteran coder, i do think i
can help with the channel
aspect of things, <3

on the other hand, i
have seen ashoka's channel.
it's pretty snazzy if i do say so
myself.

how, it's best not to let the knowledge
