"Mousekit is dead!" Cloudgaze wailed with newfound grief. Every time she had to say it it was like her kit had died all over again. She had no idea how he couldn't see his own son's body laying here. She was supposed to be the blind one, not him.

Bumblepaw watched as Stumblepaw left to go investigate whatever was happening. He gave a sigh and started trying to stand up. The tabby stumbled and fell flat on his face twice before he finally managed to get upright.

What? He looked at Mousekit's body, his pupils narrowing into vertical slits. How did that ... He seemed totally fine when he'd heard him in the nursery earlier. How did it happen? Mallowkit... Rabbitfur glanced awkwardly between the three, feeling his pelt prickle with anxiety. He didn't need to be here. These cats, or at least Cloudgaze needed time to mourn.
"I'm sorry this happened, Cloudgaze. ...I'll help you bury him," he offered quietly.

Stipestar's eyes widen as he lean down next to her. "CLoudgaze" his voice was low and filled with sadness. He press his nose on her cheek as he lay down as he place his paw on hers. "Cloudgaze..." He looked at her the mousekit. He lay his head down next to the body as he try and nudge the kit softly.

Stumblepaw realized this wasn't really something she should listen to , she quickly stood up and sprinted to the apprentice den.

Cloudgaze took in a shaky breath to try and calm herself down. "Go..." She whispered with her head turned towards Stripestar, "Go get Skykit, Mallowkit, and Icekit." Her daughters had to be upset and confused right now and they deserved the chance to mourn their littermate. "Thank you Rabbitfur." She murmured while she tucked her nose into the dead kit's fur again.

Leopardstripe laid his head into Mousekit's fur to mourn. "You were a good kit."

Stripestar's ears flatten as he looked at her. "Cloudgaze, let me stay here with you and our little mousekit." He looks at his son then lay his head down.

Cloudgaze didn't have the energy to argue with Stripestar but she also couldn't bring herself to leave Mousekit. Not yet. "Leopardstripe, could you get them?" She muttered softly since her mate didn't seem to want to fetch their kits himself.
