Wolfclaw thought for a moment, studying this kit with a cold gaze. "And what clan do you belong to, my dear?" He flicked his tail, signaling for everyone to be quiet.

"Thornclan... I'm Gingerpaw." He spoke slowly, his heart beating faster with fear.

"Want to meet him?" Thrushleap asked, still smiling.

Echo frowned, trying to pull him back. "Momma, stop. He strong like me," she protested.

"No he's not!" Goose covered him with her tail. "He needs to grow, like you."

"Thornclan... I'm Gingerpaw." He spoke slowly, his heart beating faster with fear.

"Ah, Gingerpaw. Now, tell me. Do you like your clan? Does everyone treat you well? Do they give you the best? Are you well fed?" He said this calmly, even though his eyes showed a bit of interest.

"I'm not treated very well... but I love Thornclan." He whispered.

"He strong!" Echo screeched, pushing her tail aside and pulling Babble back. "They take food, too. If they brothers they be strong as me."

Babble was suddenly very cold as he was pulled away. But he got his warmth back when placed with Echo~ she was like Goose! He, not understanding, tried to suckle from her.

"I'm not treated very well... but I love Thornclan." He whispered.

"How are you not treated well?" He asked, padding sowly around the apprentice, examining him. He knew his group of rouges had not seen kits in a long time, so he was determined to make this apprentice one of his.

Stripestar looks at her. "Ill see him later"

Goose sighed. "He's blind and deaf! He thinks you have food!" She pulled him back again.

Ice suckled contently. Yay, brother was killed! Now she could eat! It was true, food-giver was nice!

"Momma, stop! He likes me!" Echo mewed angrily, still attempting to snatch him away.

Thrushleap nodded, licking his nose before standing. She soaked herself in the rain to hide her scent of Stripestar, and padded into the nursery.
