"Maybe you should be the one to ask then," Rabbitfur suggested quietly, wondering if the tom could even hear it from the other side of the creek. He continued sniffing about for any scents that hadn't yet been washed away by the rain, perking when he picked up the trail of a squirrel.

One-eye nodded. He leapt across to the other tom's side, tasting the air.

Rabbitfur flinched slightly, not expecting the tom to join him. He blinked at him and then at the creek, impressed at the jump. But he didn't mention anything and simply started following the squirrel, stopping when it led up a tree. He sniffed the bark, his back fur bristling when he learned it was too slippery to climb up. At least, this side was. He padded around its other side, sniffing at the bark. And luckily here it was just dry enough to pull himself up. A skittering overhead told him the squirrel was still there. Better now than ever. He pulled himself up, hooking his thin, long claws into the bark so as not to slip back down. He used his tail to maintain balance as he climbed higher and higher, freezing as the squirrel darted across from one branch to another right in front of him, and racing down an opposing tree. Bitterly, he let himself back down and gave his shoulder an irritated lick. Better luck next time.
