Mackenzie Vans/ 22/ Male/ Healing factor
Tags: Open
The sounds all around him were dull. His eyes were open, but he could barely see. The white walls of the room around him swirled, and the blinding light above him made a big, white hole. Or maybe if was the light that people spoke of right before they died. Then again, Mackenzie knew good and well that there was no spot for him in heaven.
There was pain; there was always pain. The sedatives that he was given helped ease it, but Kenzie could still tell that he was being cut open. They were doing something; pulling something out it him. It wasn't uncommon for him to be used to spare parts. Anything they took would grow back, and they could use their 'donations' to help prolong the lives of their favorite fighters. Kenzie just tried to count the ceiling tiles above him and pretend that he didn't know what was going on. He seemed to do a lot of that lately.
After about half an hour, he was left alone on the table, arms and legs tied, to allow whatever they cut out of him time to regrow. Kenzie wasn't sure what it was; his abdomen was already healed shut by the time they came back. He was roughly transferred onto a gurney and taken back to the room where cages of mutants were piled ceiling high. It smell of piss and fear.
Kenzie was still a little messed up from the sedatives as they shoved him back into his cage. He laid on the wire floor, the bars pressing a checker pattern into his skin. One of the handlers decided to get smart and called him a "good boy", then reached in for a cheeky pat. Kenzie took him by surprise by sinking his sharp teeth into the man's hand, easily piercing the rubber glove. The man howled and smacked him in the head, making him let go.
Kenzie growled and shifted to turn his back towards the workers. The man grasped his bleeding hand with the other, in utter shock that he'd been bitten. Kenzie was one of the more docile mutants, haven been broken years ago. But from time to time, he would lash out when the workers got sloppy. His furry ears pinned flat as the man called him all sorts of names while the other handlers rushed to get him some disinfectant. The entire party left in a hurry.
Kenzie lifted his head once they were gone, then carefully pulled up his scrub top shirt to inspect the surgical incision that was nothing more than a thin line on his lightly furred stomach. His ears perked up as he heard the handlers talking outside of the dim room.
"Outta just feed him to one of those crazy mutants. I'd like to see him recover from that."
"He'll be joining the others on the island as planned. Your little accident doesn't change anything."
"Accident?! The little [explicit] bit me!"
"And you have one hour to get your hand stitched and report back here for transport. Better get moving."

Chiemerie Kimfemale | 17 | speed | tags: open
[list][list]
Chiemerie yawned inside of her cage as she slowly drifted into consciousness. She ignored the voices of the handlers as they talked to each other, still sleepy enough to not hear anything more than a disjointed blur of sounds. Suddenly, her cage jerked to the side as it was picked up by some sort of crane, and Chiemerie gasped as she hit the cage bars. Luckily, it had already been de-electrified. The cage swung through the air and Chiemerie sat down abruptly, feeling slightly nauseous.
Her cage was moved into a dark room that must have been a cargo bay. Chiemerie strained to see something in the darkness, but there wasn't enough light. There was no point to try to find out what was happening, so Chiemerie gave up. She was clearly being moved somewhere, but she had no idea where she was going. She settled down, curling up into a small ball. At least I'll be able to get some more sleep. It'll make the trip pass faster at least.
~~~
Chiemerie woke up falling. She was still in her cage, but she was plummeting through the air, the wind whistling through the bars and tearing at her hair. She would hit the ground in a few seconds. She would die. Not in the ring as she had thought, but in an ugly splat. Beneath her, the ground came into clearer view. It seemed to be another island, without any buildings that she could see, but it was hard to tell when she was still flipping through the air.
A second before she should have hit the ground, a parachute suddenly opened up, the white fabric flaring out above her. Chiemerie's heart plummeted straight from her mouth to her stomach. Her cage floated gently to the ground, almost in a mockery of the turbulence that she had been experiencing only a few moments ago. The parachute collapsed inwards as soon as she landed, covering her cage with a sheet of white, so that Chiemerie had to struggle through it in order to get the cage door open. She straightened carefully, stretching out her sore muscles.
Liam Hooley
location: island jungle / code name: morpheus / power: illusion / tagged: Chelsea / mood: intrigued
It didn't take too long of venturing through the jungle to spot some of the others. Liam kept his distance, finding comfort in the shadows as he looked out upon the others. He came across two of the others, a man who was shorter than him, and much more calculated in his movements helping a very attractive woman out of her cage. Interesting. Neither of them seemed to pose an immediate threat. Looking out in front of him he imagined a white dove in one of the trees and with a please smile the bird took form within a matter of seconds.
So his powers were coming back after all. After watching the two in front of him for a few short moments he moved in the other direction, through the trees keeping his senses alert and his guard up as he continued to search for some of the others. He had heard the woman say to the man that they should help the others... Liam couldn't help but shake his head at that now. He was sure that they were not all placed here to make friends.
Continuing deeper into the jungle he saw another cage with a woman who appeared to be much younger than he was stepping out of a cage. Her pink hair making him cock a brow at her. He didn't stick around to see what her powers were, everything about her made his lips turn up involuntarily. Continuing onward he caught glimpse of another woman who was younger, but only appeared to be slightly so pushing out of her cage. As she turned towards his direction he caught a glance of her face. Stunning no doubt, but with one deep red crimson eye. Now they were talking.
Stepping out of the shadows which all of a sudden felt like the most dangerous place he could have been Liam made his presence known. "I come in peace, well, mostly." He added with a smirk walking towards the other woman his hands open showing her he didn't come bearing an immediate threat. Sure, he was dangerous. And he didn't need his hands to hurt her, actually he would prefer to not use them at all, his powers were all of the mind.
"The name's Liam, I would say it's a pleasure, but-" He gestured at the open space around them. Obviously none of them had chosen to be here, he could tell by the way she was sizing him up that she too wasn't comfortable in this situation. Good- maybe he wasn't the only one who was blindsided then.
nikolaos vlahos - 19 - stone - open
Nikolaos remembered most of what had happened to him, from when he was placed in a cage to his imminent arrival at the island. He had been exiting a fighting ring, his body had been aching and he could feel his mind giving in. The world around him was spinning and his heart was racing at what he felt like ten times what it should have been. He was covered in splashes of blood, not his own, and his eye sight which was already bad enough seemed non existent. His feet dragged across the cold floors of the arena, his mind doing dives and his heart sinking. Men had started to approach him, but he could barely see them. He only heard the footsteps and voices of foreigners in his ears.
He felt cold hands grasp his body, and a thud against the back of his neck. The sound of metal breaking on stone. This seemed to be an attempt to put him down, and he immediately had retaliated by punching the guy behind him. A satisfactory thud of the body as it hit the ground, hard. He realized seconds after that they had attempted to tranquilize him, but the needles themselves could not penetrate his rough stone layers. He had heard of this happening to others, but never imagined this for himself. He heard the buzz of a phone call and a mans voice, "Preparing for transport now. Ran into a small bump. Sending in others." Nikolaos never had believed the stories. They were taking him to an island. It was practically a death penalty. His body felt heavy, however, and with the onslaught of men forcing him down they managed to force him into a small cage.
Once inside, he felt his strength literally leave his body. He went limp at a single touch of the cage bars, and everything had gone black.
-
When he reopened his eyes he looked down to see water. Miles and miles of water. Truly, he despised water and the sight of it. He would sink to his death in an instant, he would be powerless. Then, minutes later, an island came into view. The loud noises of the helicopter above him made his ears ache in distress. The island came nearer and nearer, but his vision wasn't appropriate for long distances. He couldn't see a single redeeming feature. Where was he? He certainly wouldn't be alone on this place. His body still felt heavier than usual, and as the helicopter made a sharp turn he slammed against the side of his cage. This caused the helicopter to lean to the side, and release him in order to stop itself from spinning out of control. And down he fell, his strength weak yet he gripped to the cage bars like he could save himself just by touching them. He spun and spun, his parachute finally activating after what felt like years. Still, his weight quite literally weighed him down, and he crashed into the sand with a very loud boom.
He was a foot or two buried in sand, and it took him a minute to regroup himself. Sand was slowly filtering through into his cage, and he promptly decided he would like to get out. He could feel his body twitch as power was regained, and he wrapped his hands around the cage. Applying some force, he ripped the whole door off of it, causing a downpour of sand onto his body. It was quite gross, but at least it wasn't water. He crawled out of the opening above the sand, and blinked repeatedly as sun shone down onto him. His eyes tried to adjust, but failed. Looking around, he saw nothing. How helpful it was to have horrid sight. However, he could hear. And he heard voices, the sounds of metal on sand. He wasn't sure whether to be frightful or curious, yet he found himself standing up and walking slowly in the direction of the noises, his feet sinking into the delicate sand beneath him.
Chiemerie Kimfemale | 17 | speed | tags: Niko
Chiemerie saw another person walking towards her. Frowning, she raised a hand to shield her eyes from the sun. From a distance, it almost looked like the man's skin was gray. Then her eyes widened as she realized that it was. The other person was made out of stone. Curious, she ran forward, stopping right in front of what must have been another mutant in a spray of sand. Most of it landed on him, but a few grains hit her, stinging her skin slightly.
"Hi!" she chirped brightly. His body is made of stone? What a weird mutation. Kind of cool, though. She shifted slightly, uncomfortable under the hot sun. She swatted away a mosquito that landed on her arm, her hand moving in a blurred arc. Of course the island I was dropped on had to be hot and have bugs. Weren't islands supposed to be nice vacation-y places? Well, at least she was out of the ring now. That was definitely an improvement.
Chiemerie almost took a step back as she realized that the other mutant might still attack her. But moving away at any speed that he could still catch her at would be pointless. And she was still curious. The other person might at least know where they were.
The young man came over to her, but the look on his face told her that something had surprise him? What was that all about? She didn't bother to mention it, though, because he was helping her out of this dumb cage, after all. Her fall from whatever height seemed to have busted the door hinges and locking system so that shouldn't get out as easily as the others had, or at least that's what she siosed. She had never really been 100% analytical, especially when she was scared, hurt, and confused (a disadvantage of being human, to be sure). Still, it unnerved her of the fact that there was a bunch of mutants flung into what appeared to be an island. She wouldn't know full details until their captors deemed it necessary, but the brunette was rather determined to get to the bottom of it. But, back in the present, she couldn't get over this young man's voice. It was robotic, and that consider her to no end. Was he a mite before and they had to give him some sort of voice? Or... no, that wasn't it. It was too real sounding to be some sort of thought processor, and it was too fake sounding to be someone's natural voice. This confused her to no end, but she let it ride, feeling that those weren't exactly the questions she should be asking right now. Robot or no, he was helping her, and they were in this together with all of the other mutants.
When he told her to stay back, she scooted to the other side of the cage, holding in a yelp of pain as the scalding hot metal found contain with her battered and bruised arms. Her blue eyes widened in amazement as the young man touched the outside and his eyes seemed to short out. "Hey - a-are you alright?" she asked, concern filled in her voice as that didn't seem to look good. He appeared alright, however, as not but a moment later, he used some sort of heated vision to melt the lock on the door and flung it to the side and it banged against the side with a dull thud. Crawling foreward, she slowly took his offered hand, his being a decent amount bigger than hers. "Thank you, for helping me..." She looked to him, nodding her head to conclude her thanks. His hands were cold, but they felt... well, real. If he was a robot would he really have real skin? Julia could only think that he must have to be either a cyborg or an android (she honestly had never understood the difference of the two names) but she wasn't about to get into that now. She slowly dropped her hand to her side, using her other free hand to hold her poor aching head. "It appears as though we've been bagged and tagged and thrown on an island." She scowled at her own choice of words. Who did these people think mutants were?! Cattle?!! This ticked her off to no end.
━━━━━━━━━ cali x ;;
..body android ;; power(s) telekinesis, heat vision ;; code name circuit ;; tags julia
________"i said a bit, not all the way," calix remarked gently, easily noticing the cry of pain the stranger had resisted. she'd scooted back as far as she could in her cage, practically ramming her back into the electrical bars. although cal couldn't exactly distinguish pain, he could tell when damage was being done to himself or others. luckily, the prison hadn't fought him back too harshly as he helped free the girl within. if he'd kept holding onto those bars, he didn't doubt for a second he would've suffered from some severe malfunctions. "i am fine," he added, assuring her it was nothing he couldn't handle. he'd experienced plenty of other horrible things before, so realistically this had to be the most tame thing he'd done in a while. he was now accustomed to the fight or flight method, not able to do much to help others. his first few times in the ring had been hell, as he was so confused. it was a whole new concept, this "fighting" mess. he was literally programmed to help people, not harm them. but he would be punished if he refused, or would risk dying at the hands of his opponent. his "caretakers" didn't worry about him at all, so if he got broken up they didn't bother repairing him. if he got too bad, to a point where he couldn't cope, they threatened to shut him down. so, he had no choice but to battle. at least, with the beauty of his powers, he never had to physically do anything. he could just stand back and let his conscious do the work, not having to lift a finger unless he was dodging an attack. but he got no thrill when he won, he only felt terrible. one time he'd nearly killed someone, dropping them from a longer distance than they could manage. calix had desperately tried to help the person, but was dragged from the ring with him shouting the whole way.
________"you are welcome," cal replied, also releasing her hand. he couldn't exactly feel anything, but he did detect a great deal of warmth radiating from her skin. human. although mutant, she was made of flesh and bone. concerning the many other cages that had plummeted alongside his and hers, he queried that he'd be the only one that was so... cold. being an android had its pros and cons, that was for sure. he tended to suppose the bad outweighed the good, which was unfortunate. at least he had a sort of "element of surprise," as most people suspected he was a weakling who couldn't fabricate his own thoughts or concerns. calix had rebelled against his original wiring, becoming awfully observant and unknowingly creating a consciousness for himself. the fact that he was a being without a legitimate brain, but could move things by constructing the thought of it... it was like a peculiar miracle. he was so much more than a stack of metal and flesh haphazardly stitched together, and he prided himself greatly for getting to this point on his own. most androids were mindless and boring, but he could react to things. calix could experience sorrow, distress, happiness, and plenty of other fascinating, humane emotions. it sucked it'd landed him in the ring, but at least he was something more than an insignificant servant.
________the android glanced over at the girl, noting her scowl. she was clearly disgusted by their current predicament, finding it foul. he didn't blame her, either. they'd literally been dropped on a random island, surrounded by strangers, and without explanation. calix had a faint feeling that not all of the mutants would be as kind as this one was proving to be. "likely so. i can not say i am too surprised, though. the humans like to watch us play games for them, as we are their pawns and source of entertainment. it was only a matter of time before something of this complexity would occur."
________calix could now see the girl up front, looking her entire body up and down. her eyes were still what stood out to him the most, as they were so bright and lively. but, she was a very attractive female. she was quite a bit shorter than him, seeing as he was 6'3. he had been ever since he was created, as it was seen as more "helpful" if he could reach things that were positioned high up. in his years of service work, it had, in fact, come in handy. now it just caused him to tower over his opponents, a gigantic hunk of metal disguised by skin.
________"what is your name, if you do not mind me asking?" his peculiar voice vibrated, a hint of personal curiosity lodged within its previous lifelessness.
Chelsea's attention was drawn by a presence nearby. She turned around and before she could say anything a mal figure walked out of the darkness. Well, at least he had been smart enough to sense that that probably wasn't a good idea. At his words Chelsea snorted. Really? Did he really expect her to believe that he posed no threat? How cliche was that?
"Name's Chelsea. I assume you have no idea as to why you are here either?" She asked, basing her assumption on his vague gesture to the world around them. In terms of their current situation her best guess was that this was another fighting arena, just on a much larger scale. If this was true then it meant that all of the others on this island were mutants. How many cages had she seen? Five? Six? Maybe more? If the intention was for them to fight then why weren't they told? If any of them had been in a ring before then surely it would be their first assumption?
She let a light sigh escape her lips. Despite all of her years in the ring she still couldn't understand hat was so fascinating about it to humans. Then again they always enjoyed pitting two creatures against each other, dog fighting, cock fighting, hell person fought person all the time. With mutants there seemed to be an extra side to it, the strongest didn't always win. The fights were unpredictable, especially when a new fighter was brought in. Her eyes once again scanned the dark figure in front of her. What could he do? What could he do?
Liam Hooley
location: island jungle / code name: morpheus / power: illusion / tagged: Chelsea / mood: curious
"You know doll, you could take a picture, it would last longer." Liam said with a wry smirk falling back into his old ways. He was a natural flirt and a grade A jackass when someone first met him, but after that, well, if he chose to like them he would settle down a little bit. "Afraid not, sweetheart" He added as she asked him if he had any idea where they were. Watching her he eyed her up as well, showing their powers at this point in time would hardly be worth it, but with her one crimson eye Liam just had a feeling that she wasn't one to mess with.
"Far as I can tell there's got to be at least 4 others, maybe more based on the cages I saw falling. On my way here I saw three others, a woman with dark hair and piercing blue eyes, a man, about 6 foot something in the distance with the most calculated movements I've ever seen- I'd be shocked if he was human, and another girl, young, with bright pink hair." He said lips curling up as the words left his mouth before he could even realize it was happening.
Pink. What a nasty [removed] color. His gaze focused back on the woman in front of him. "I wouldn't be surprised if we were placed here to fight one another. Like a mutant hunger games." He said referencing the stupid ass movie series all of the humans seemed to love, of the humans beating the [removed] out of one another. Little did many of them know that was exactly what happened to mutants on a daily basis for their entertainment.
Robot or no, Julia could already tell that despite all his strength and abilities, that this person was kind at heart. They had no desire to hurt others, just like herself. While she did not understand not know why they were all chucked onto this island, she could make guesses as to why, and most of them were not pleasant. Some sort of "Hunger Games" survival of the fittest? She sure hoped not, because Julia was positive that she would be one of the first to die. She absolutely refused to use her powers against others unless she was going to die if she didn't. How cruel would that be? To die by the exact thing that made you special? No. The brunette was not that... heartless. Julia herself had never been in a more dangerous situation than when she had broken out of the lab that was going to harvest her abilities and kill her in the process - that had been a close call. She had needed medical treatment, but had instead contacted a friend who has regenerative powers and borrowed them from her. No hospitals. If there was one thing Julia hated more than hurting others, it was being stuck in any place that even vaguely reminded her of that God-awful lab she had been stuck. They were evil - they had tricked her into going willingly and then they kept her against her will until she escaped on her own. Now this was another kind of prison, and she wasn't looking forward to it.
Julia placed her hands on her hips as the young man seemed to comment about how humans liked to watch them run around like chickens with their heads cut off (she did tend to take some liberties when it came to retwlling certain information). "Yeah? Well that's pretty sick and twisted if you ask me." she responded, clearly a little more than irate at this sudden turn of events. "We have feelings! Or do they only continue to think that we're simply animals with no self-control? Clearly - otherwise they wouldn't have chucked us off a plane in cages." Her own bewilderment showed in the tone of her voice as she scoffed at the ridiculousness of it all. It was just... Dumb. Like going out of the frying pan and into the frier. "I really can't catch a break!!" she complained under her breath, holding her head in one hand. She was so wrapped up in her own mind that she hadn't noticed his gaze, and she jumped slightly when the young man asked her for her name. "H-huh? Oh right. Sorry - my name's Julia."
