Okay, so this question has been bugging me ever since I've had a charahub, weebly, and toyhou.se.
- Code: Select all
Which site do you prefer using for characters? Sta.sh, Charahub, Weebly/Wix/Other Website, or Toyhou.se?
I have to ask because I personally have an oc site
(Weebly) for characters I design myself, and one for those I adopt from others. However, it's. . .annoying to say the least when I have to switch back and forth between them.
Charahub, although has nice questions for development, only has 10 slots for pictures and you can only have 100 characters on their max (and I sadly don't have the money to go premium).
Toyhou.se is just slightly cumbersome because that would require me to take my 1000+ art pieces (and yeah, sadly, I counted) and as much as I love the feature to make sure artist credits are there, I'm not a fan of doing that for that many pieces.
And
Sta.sh, I'm just afraid of having a misclick and losing all of that art.
If anyone could give me their input on which site you use and why you like it I'd very much appreciate it. Thanks!
@Demzee Aww, that sharkdog is precious. Too bad I only have. . .96 points to my name.
@Sparkyy Good luck with those customs!
@KiPotato Have fun on your stream, yo
@Castlee. Hope you clear out all those you no longer want. Good luck in all your future endeavors.
@Nightsouls Such a lovely character. Everything is so pretty!
What sort of program do you use to Crop Out a character you bought from a sheet adopt? Why that program and do you have any tips?I use. . .many hah. The I used to use was Gimp, now but I use FA.
OH!
If you want a free online software that you don't have to download to make things transparent, crop, then I say use
LunaPic!They even have functions to send the image your working with to your tumblr, flickr or imgur to upload them.
Have you ever gone back to an old character and try to write for them again? If so, how easy or difficult was it for you to go back to the mindset you had when you first wrote about them?Yeah I have. Most of the time, if I have a new idea for a character it's easy because it probably means that I was never really into the previous idea I had for them. It would probably be hard for me to go back to that mindset because I don't change my character ideas often.
What character was the hardest for you to get back into the mindset of writing for?Any character of mine that I feel is a duplicate of another. For example, Simon! I designed him with a mastermind in mind (ha) but because his personality was slightly based off of my previous character Techka. And since Teckha's idea was cute and evil, and Simon is less so "cute and evil" it's hard to write because I can't fully used my original source material.
What do you enjoy most when you're developing characters?Personalities! I have so many different sites that colleges use for character traits and I love mixing and matching those traits together. It's loads of fun when you're developing and you already know who doesn't like ketchup or who would be the one to stick their tongue to a frozen telephone pole.
How do you feel when buying other people sona?I don't know about others, but I feel awkward about it. I feel as if I will never be able to give them as much love as their previous owner did. But that's just me.
Pick 5 Characters, order them 1-5! (Just names are fine!)(I used random.org to pick
1. [11]
Arrluk2. [57]
Truvia3. [48]
Pourpre4. [33]
Taki5. [1]
AnalogueCharacters 1 and 3 are in an argument about sharks, which one is the most logical whilst arguing? Probably Arrluk. Although both of them are older, Arrluk is even older than the 30-40 year old. Being 64 does have it's perks.
Though, Pourpre probably has more knowledge since she pride herself in being a journalist. Hm, could be both of them.
Character 5 went swimsuit shopping, what did they get?The cutest, most "out there" bikini. Analogue believes that if they're going to spend money on a bathing suit they want the one that will gain the most attention.
All of Characters are at the beach, who's doing what? Arrluk is certainly sleeping on the beach. Poor old man.
Truvia is making a sandcastle and making battle plans on how to utilize nature to benefit it's destruction.
Pourpre is probably writing. She figures this trip would make a good little column for the summer, so she's working hard in this heat!
Taki is probably using his water powers to push and pull the waves. He's pretty sure he's patrolled the area 12 times in 6 minutes.
Analogue is confused. They live in a computer, so they don't understand the concept of hot or why everyone is throwing themselves into the ocean.
Character 4 is on vacation, they bump into character 2! What happens?Taki excuses himself. He says he should have paid attention to where he was going. He probably smiles at the child and gives her a random flower from a bush. Truvia says thank you, but she quickly forgets the encounter in her mind. She's not going to let a stranger on vacation ruin hers.
