aye, back from the dead!
i should probably check in here more often... oops! time to play a bit of catch up
@mimi.
i think it looks great! i do love simple signatures, so I can't help it. you also managed
to keep a constant gray colorscheme, even in the text, and I think that looks very good.
@iris.
I love the monochrome colorscheme, it's one i use quite often and it's the colorscheme
i used for my shop. as far as attracting customers goes, i'm sure some might get put off
by the monochrome, but some people also get put off by bright colors, or other dark
colors, i think you'll get a fair amount either way. and for adding, well i think it looks
just fine, and that the best way to attract customers is to advertise. there's nothing the
colorscheme and the basic aspects of a shop will do to attract, one way certain people
will want to buy, another way other people will, it's just perspective(<wrong word?).
@can-can
oh, i love it! it's a cute lil smol sig. it's so adorable and simple GAH i'm a sucker for smol
sigs c: it's just so sweet and simple. it's layout is also super nice. i always love your sigs anyway
sʜᴀᴅᴏᴡs
i love the theme and the colorscheme you've got going on. i think maybe if you were to
finish out the orange by boxing it, it'd complete it a bit better, tho.
jyushi
ah! overwatch sigs! time to fangirl. i love the colorscheme. yellow, green and blue,
i've noticed, are often colors people use together and they can clash horribly, but i think
you used them quite well, with having them more subtle than neon-y.
@para.
it looks very nice! i like the gifs you created and the way you placed the overall layout. all i could
say you could have done a bit differently is maybe give the left image/gif a box around it, or create
some borders for it? other than that, great job! i love the colorscheme too, and the way you implemented
the quote c:
so, i've been creating a lot of small sigs recently as order, and decided to go big and make one of
larger proportions for myself. thoughts/comments/critique? i like it, but at the same time, i'm
not too sure that i like it...

@maow; i like your sig a lot! im not sure who the characters are, but the images used are super cute and i like how they fade into each other. the quote is easy to follow, even though it is spread throughout the sig. i like how you are using multiple fonts, but not too many that it makes the sig feel cluttered. the links and bio are organized well and fill the space perfectly! i really like the addition of the song of the week; its a cool idea! i think my only criticism would be that the "much" image blends right into the gif, so it looks a bit awkward to me.
@para; interesting setup! i like your use of two different sorts of tall borders, and the different colors used on the x's. the black & blue color scheme works wonderfully, especially in the text box! i like how there is space for text, but it doesnt overpower the images used/take up tons of room. the overlays you did look nice (i really like the background images used!) i think my only comment on it would be the white background on the left gif stands out a lot against the dark theme. i understand editing the background color would be hard, but i might try to find one with a darker background to match more.
@jyushi; i like your sig a lot! the gif is super cute & captures the character well. im not a huge fan of brighter greens used in sigs, but in this case i think it works perfectly & is not blinding. the little music bar gif is a nice filler & fits the theme nicely. as for the quote in question, i like it & i think the sig would be missing something if you replaced it. as for the other quote, i love the use of the arrows! its unique, and compliments the text well. your bio is super friendly sounding, so i enjoyed reading it <3
@shadows; it is a very nice filler! simple, but still cute. i like that there is a dash of purple throughout. the quote is cute and i like the use of wide font. my only issue is that on my screen the quote goes outside of the borders, tho i know thats just my computer unfortunately (if only sigs could look the same on all devices...). the pixel heart is a super cute touch!
i saw some gameplay for inside & one of my friends said i would like limbo (game by the same developer). i watched a playthrough & loved it, which is what inspired this sig. feedback/commentary is appreciated! c:

@maow
ahhh!! i love your siggy!! i'm pretty sure i've seen that anime (or is it 2). the color scheme really makes me feel relaxed. i love the use of font and how organized it is. the gifs are perfect aswell.
@gods
your siggy is great!! i love the simplicity. the shaped gifs adds great dimension and the font also sets the tone. b/w color scheme is one of my favorites. the only problem is that the "bio" on my screen is too sticking out quite a bit. it may just be because of the internet browser i use. overall, its great. uwu
@totally not patronus
(love the user). welcome to the siggy fanclub, i hope you come to love this place. nwn your siggy is so cute!! i love the pastels and the dog image. its very simple and clean.
-- any comments on my siggy? i love me some feedback. should i make a new one or stick with this?--

@everyone who commented
Thank you for your opinions! I'll keep that in mind next time.
@gods
I think you have a really nice sig there! The black and white GIFs work very well together and with the rest of the signature. There isn't far too much of one color or another. The text and GIFs really balance each other out, and it all blends very well. the main prob;em I can see is that, on my screen, your text area is too small and it's spilling out to below the sig. Here's a screenshot. I'm sure with that fixed and all, it would be an amazing signature!
@patron
Welcome to the club! Hope you enjoy your stay. c:
@kaplan
The first thing I thought when I looked at your signature was, "wow, that looks amazing; it must have taken a long while and I love ramen, too!" Your sig truly looks beautiful, and the color scheme works fabulously. I love how you did the fading on only one edge of each of your outer box edge things. Idrk what to call them, but they look great. In my opinion, it's a little text-heavy, but it works. The pink kinda balances it out, it that makes any sense. But yeah, it looks great!

@maow;
woah, i love your signature! it's so organized, and the layout is lovely! i also really like your quote, even if i don't recognize the anime. the color scheme and gifs are amazing as well ~
@gods;
as usual, your signature is amazing! the fonts you used fit really well, and as quite a few of you know i'm a sucker for greyscale! i'm pretty sure @parabatai said that the text is spilling out, but i'm in safari and i don't see that.
@totally not patronus;
ooh, i love your signature! the color scheme is so calming, and your quote is really cute too ~ ! i love the layout as well.
@kaplantai;
your signature is great, i would definitely stick to it! the gif is really well-made and so cute, and i love your use of borders and boxes, it feels really cohesive and fits together beautifully.
could i get some feedback on my own signature? <3

You will notice that the poll has changed to one reflecting the new rules.
I requested that to see the feedback in regards to the topic. The rules were made from constant PMs from users who were ignored and or otherwise, and yet those same users are barely on the thread when we did push for this change to happen.
It leaves us in a void as to what we should do because these rules only accommodate those who are experienced in coding to its full potential. And to be honest, I am kind of tired of handing out warnings to people over this, and then to see them not come back to the thread.
In the original post I did which has this rule update, there was a part which stated we will see how these rules go and go from there. It has been a few months since we have put these rules into check and this is the result:
- more pointless warnings which are being handed out to keep people who barely use the thread happy.
- the thread has dried up and doesn't run as fluently as it did before.
- people are getting replies
- there are a ton of people who type out long replies which is awesome, though it intimidates newcomers into the thread.
The long story short of it is this.... It's biggest benefit seems to be ego feeding. The rules guarantee a reply to a user on comments on their signature, they ask for more, they get more, thrive in positivity and it strokes the coders ego, and you get said comments from fellow coders who also ask and its a unbias cycle. This... Was the one thing I wanted to avoid. It happened with previous signature clubs... I was hoping it wouldn't happen here too.
When I commented on peoples signatures back in the day, I would go in length the good and the bass and how one could try and improve their signature creation. There are those who do comment on the good, but that's it. This ends up linking up seemingly with ego feeding, from pure observation.
I am curious to see the result of the poll because while the rules are beneficial, they take away the openness the thread once was and therefore it is dying off. I encourage you all to vote here, and vote with this in mind. I haven't seen many new people actually making a post on here for ages (excluding induction post), and... I kind of miss that. I miss seeing new people making their first post and then following their coding journey as they excitingly show off their skills as they grow.
You don't see this anymore unless you Signature shop hunt in the coding part of the forum. And that is extremely distasteful for me to see people not wanting to be in this thread. To talk and share techniques. To be a community again instead of forcing the same people (whether they want to or not) to comment on someone's signature to keep the thread rolling.
This is my personal two cents worth. I listened to the negativity and peoples endless whining (because some of it was whining) for change and we did. But how better off are we truly? Not really. When this thread was created, the idea was for it to be open to all. And everyone to be treated equally. And by the looks of it... That isn't what has been achieved.
What do you guys think? This is going to be a discussion that takes place because I am curious on how people see this new rule change now in contrast to what they thought of it a few months ago.
I do strongly ask for this to be kept civil. You can say you don't agree and you can list as to why that is, but don't outright insult people or things.

@Zey
In all honesty, I 100% percent agree. I
haven't gone on this thread as much because
this club became a more "complementing your
coding" thing than "talking about coding". It's
become this strive for complements rather than
critiques, and I feel like we aren't connected anymore.
I honestly want to help newcomers, and help them
develop their code. The "mom friend" in me wants to help
everyone, but it's really hard to when most people ask for
complements. It gets tiring to complement everyone's code,
and now it's boring. There isn't this...idk...maybe joy to it
anymore. It's repetitive. And thus it's the reason why I've been
looking through this thread but not posting too much.
This is a small suggestion, but maybe we could have something
in this thread that helps newcoming coders. Maybe like a adopt
a newbie thing, or something like that. Just...anything that could
help newcomers.
Basically, we need to have something for newcomers to do. This
thread is now only appealing to veterans, and honestly, I don't
like it.
