Changes to the pound

• this was really needed. 2862106 pets sit in the pound currently, and i bet some have been rotting away for years! the more chances for pets will help to reduce that number of long-time occupants. i can understand why the 24-hour timer was in place originally, as the number of pets flowing into the pound wasn't as numerous. but now, that is way too long of a wait. thanks for adding this.

I agree. Plus - since this site has been up for years new players have a really hard time making up for those lost years. With this change it will be a bit easier for them.

Speaking as someone that has been a member of this site since 2009 I absolutely hate this change. The pound opening used to be something special that my friend (Whom I recently introduced to this site) and I would look forward too. He and I would check back here multiple times a day to see if it was going to open. We'd remind each other and lament when we missed it by a few minutes.

Though It wasn't a big deal if we missed it, there was always next time and we didn't mind waiting because to us it was something worth waiting for. We thrived on that thrill of getting there on time and knowing we'd made it. It held a sense of urgency.

Now, however, it isn't special at all. It basically lost its meaning to us, and there's no longer that feeling of anticipation or excitement. It's just like, "Oh.. the pound is opening. it doesn't matter if we miss it it'll be open in a couple more hours anyway." we don't kick ourselves as much as we would have regularly and we don't have that sense of disappointment.

I feel the same as you. I completely get where you're coming from. Practically, however, I like this change.

In a way, it's a pity that the Pound has accumulated so many pets that this had to happen. Not only do the openings feel like they're done because they have to be open instead of because they want to be open, but it also means that a lot of people have been cheating (I can't imagine that the number of donated pets is high compared to the number of pets obtained from rule-breakers).

I haven't adopted a pound pet in ages because I had horrible timing when checking the pound (never opened when I checked it). I am very happy with these changes, hope I can catch it open and get some soon! 8D

hey nick - this probably means you should update the message "the pound has opened in the last day", since the pound shall be opening much

more often now!

and also perhaps update the 4 - 8 per week thing if this is true.

I noticed this change immediately. However I thought it was a glitch on my account, or because I had donated an X amount of pets so now I can adopt much sooner...
Now that I've read this thread, it's no mistake or reward, it's something for everyone!~
I have good vibes that this change would be for the best!
Who knows, maybe more people would find their dreamies easier!
