Hoard Discussion Thread v.5

HELLLOOO everyone! It has been so long! Decided to do some new hoards lately, going to really lengthen my hoards out to more pets, but I decided to hoard this litter:


Pet's name: Broken Glass
Adopt virtual pets at Chicken Smoothie!

I am beginning to really favor them. ^^

My CS Birthday Green Lion hoard is one away from 50!

Pet's name: Peter Pan

My Christmas Huskies hoard has grown a bit and is now at 21 (that one's a bit slow XD)

Pet's name: Misfit toy

I've started two new hoards, my Nine In The Afternoon hoard:

Pet's name: Celtic Rose
Named for my love of Panic! At the Disco, and the fact that her eyes are the size of the moon on her forehead I've always loved this pet, so I am very excited to hoard it.

And my Friend's for Derk hoard:

Pet's name: Cirno
I got Derk, one of these dogs, from the pound. He came with that name, and for some reason I just think it's the funniest thing, and it goes with his coloring perfectly. He just looks like a happy-go-lucky, goofy kind of dog. So I decided Derk needed some friends, and started this hoard

Im at #66 of my "Battered in blood" hoard! I dont really have a set goal on how many i'd like yet, does anyone else have this issue of not finding a set goal to finish a hoard?

in last two days I finished over 10 hoards with goal! minimal goal is 50 ^^
I'm so happy for that... and soon I will have complete another goal hoards
I hope that I will have soon complete all 2015 hoards with goal ^^

Ahhh, is it another milestone for me? Yes, it is!
No Price Too Great, No Distance Too Far just went past the goal of 400!
To be more exact, the hoard is at 402 now. And... well...

I can't, I just can't stop. I thought I'd be happy with that number, but the closer I got to it, the more did my mind ask:
What about 500?

I need more mothwolves in my life.

Im at #66 of my "Battered in blood" hoard! I dont really have a set goal on how many i'd like yet, does anyone else have this issue of not finding a set goal to finish a hoard?

Yeah, sometimes I just kinda hoard pets and see if I reach a number that looks nice, haha.
And with how often I expand my hoards because a different number suddenly seems more appealing... well, I never take my own goals for granted^^

If you could create a pet to hoard, what would it look like? Species, colors, design, etc.?

I just came back from a month long hiatus and I remembered one of my hoards turned rare.
Should I continue pursuing more or should I stop ? I have around 10. They were hard to find as uncommons aswell :,(

Nice job! Those Moth Wolves are adorable. So cute and fuzzy! I can imagine a whole flock of them flitting around the porch light at night. ^_^

Definitely keep going! There's always room for another.
One question that's always bothered me... exactly how big are butterfly and moth wolves? I always imagine them around regular butterfly to moth size. Which would put them at less than a foot long wingspan and only a few ounces for the very biggest.

I really want to start a new hoard, but I'd like to finish one of my active hoards before I start a new one.

A little bit of update on my hoards,
more for my benefit than anybody elses' , as no one seems to really care.

I did just do a purge of about 3 of my hoards however.
It always makes me kind of sad to do so - but when I don't feel the connection I once had, and can use them as fodder for pets I really do want extra of, there is no real reason to keep the hoard alive.

How often do you guys purge?

Aw, no, I always love seeing people's updates! It makes me happy seeing everyone's different hoard pets and their progress towards their goal. It's actually my favorite thing about this thread to be honest.

I only purge if I no longer like the pet I've hoarded. Or, at least before, if a pet I hoarded turned uncommon and I hadn't finished the hoard. In total I've purged about 4 hoards in my time here on CS. There might be more but at the moment I can only think of these.

I'm actually debating re-starting some of these hoards now...but am unsure if I want to go about gathering them all up again and then possibly ending up re-purging them. Especially the adult dogs, as they're from 2011 and as such will be the oldest pets I've attempted to hoard.

That's an issue I've been having lately with quite a few hoards. I usually like to make the final number significant in some way, and if I can't I just do a set goal of 150 or so pets, or a number that ends in 2 or more 0s just to make it fun. But some pets I just can't seem to stop hoarding more of, and as such don't have a stopping number at the moment. I know I want a set number, I just don't know what it is yet!
