How do you feel when you don't get all the art for an oc that you buy. like you do some searching and you find art that they didn't give you or something.
Well, to be honest, I tend to think the best of people, so I usually chalk it down to something like: the person I got the character from didn't know this art existed or the character had so much art and they forgot about it or something. XD So when I discover that a character has more art, I kinda treat it like...Easter. XD Like: Oh hey look! More art! ♥
For example:
My character Nico, who was a HUGE dreamie of mine about 4 years ago and one of my favorite characters. Came to me with only a few pieces of art. But when I decided to go find out who the female was in this picture by TheWolfsGirl90 that he came with, I found out that he had been owned by someone prior to the person I purchased him from and he had been owned prior to that as well and I think I ended up getting 2 additional pieces of art which I hadn't gotten. Also, he was sold to me under the belief that he was designed by TWG90, but he wasn't. He was made by Dark Archangel. He merely had a single piece of art by TWG90. XD
Anyway, I found this piece:

I haven't truly like...appropriated the pieces. As in, I haven't taken them and added them onto any of the sites where I store Nico's art and information because I haven't yet asked the users' permission...although I don't believe that Dark Archangel is active on CS anymore. Yeah, no, they're not. XD They haven't been on since 2012, so I guess I can take the ref. XD

Anyway, yeah. XD I treat finding art that I didn't get with a character or didn't know about like an Easter Egg Hunt. XD


What's your opinion on bird characters?
I like them! I mean, I don't have too many, but I think they're pretty cool. I wish there were more artists who drew birds because I'd love to get more art of my owl characters. XD

...it occurs to me that pretty much all of my characters' names are pretty straightforwards though whoops o-|-<

Does the pronunciation of your character(s) name important to you online?
Or are you okay with people pronouncing it however they like?
pronunciation isn't super important to me, no. but with my old username (hiperyon), sometimes people would pronounce it "hip-eh-ryon" instead of "hype-eerion" or something and that'd bug me cause, like... "that's not my name"

What's your opinion on bird characters?
there needs to be more... MORE...
i have these guys (bikbak, fovea, greed, periphery, an utu are the only "actual" birds though-- sammy is a birdfolk, crow is a gryphon, and timou is a rito)
i've had utu and bikbak for a year or two now, and timou for forever, but i'm so excited to see more bird characters aaa

Does it ever annoy you when other people base their characters off of famous characters, and it's almost exactly like that character?
i mean, to each their own, but i'm personally really not a big fan of them. even when they're vaguely based on other characters, it just kinda makes me uncomfortable and feels unoriginal or something? idunno

Are you bothered by slight differences between art pieces of your OCs? (i.e. if the 'official' pawpad colour wasn't on the ref and some art showed them one colour, and some art another colour).
not at all! if it's a huge thing like the anatomy being totally wrong or important markings being missing i might be a bit put off, but in most cases i love variety in my characters' art!

How many characters of yours pass the silhouette test?
oo, here's one i've never really thought about before
...about 60-65 of my ~90 characters, depending on how strict you are with it. i tend to prefer characters with more unique anatomy and stuff, so... juj

i don't put much thought into it, it's an impulse thing when i first upload to toy.house. to be honest, they're pretty inaccurate and i'm considering just doing away with them completely.

Pronunciation Is Very Important To Me, Most Of My Characters Are Named After Angels And Demons. Any Other Of My Names Are In Romanian Or Russian So I Dont Expect People To Be Able To Pronounce Everything Correctly But I Do Offer Pronunciations.

Unahthyss'trakh = uh-NAH-thys-trakh
Trahexahliondeh = trah-yeks-ah-lee-AHN-deh
Toirdhealbhach = TUR-lokh Gotta love those Gaelic spellings. x)

I have a weird taste in names, lol. The stranger and more unusual they look/sound, the more likely I am to fall in love with them immediately. xD

Nah, I can't say I think they're necessarily connected. I got a bunch from a make-me-a-character contest I was running, then I've bought the rest over time, which was something I was gradually getting into before I joined the CAAA and I don't really feel like my joining gave me a significant boost in motivation or anything.

Who were your favorite characters when you joined? Do you still own them? Are they still some of your favorite characters?

I think I listed my favorites as my three main characters at the time: Ariael, Síoda, and Kangee. I still have all of them, all are still in my main character section (along with Tinuviel, whom I got after I joined,) and all are still my favorites, so not much has changed there. :)

I don't know ... I'd probably say no, since I've always had a varied taste in characters and I don't think that has changed at all. I would still be happy to get a character like Keahi now.

I have two groups: main and other. Where characters are placed just depends on how attached I feel towards them. If they are especially important to me, they go in "Main," while characters that I don't connect with quite as strongly go in "Other." Most end up in "Other" to begin with and usually stay there, but as my tastes and attachments to characters change over time, sometimes a character will switch groups, as was the case with Nahtha (who was a main character and my fursona for some years until I lost touch with her) and Tinuviel (who was in "Other Characters" at first, though only briefly.)

(I've never run a lineart competition but I stalk art competitions going on here generally, and whether or not you do get good lines seems to be mostly luck, as long as you've got some rares up. That said, a very desirable rare definitely would boost your chances, but there's still a chance of not getting the kind of line improvement you want, so it's a risk! Good luck :0 That said, it might still be cheaper than actually commissioning someone you know is good at species lines?? idk)

uhhh a bunch. 20 to 30 maybe?? I usually don't count the designs I make myself to sell and then forget to sell, but some of them have slowly ingratiated their way into the pack. eh.

Sorrow & fishbowl girl are my childhood characters and so I love them particularly. This hasn't changed, but I've got a few more characters who I could probably draw from memory anytime, so that's cool

primary characters affect my attitudes to the other characters, or are always considered when adding a character to the pile, or are just so old that I could recite their traits from memory and redesign them without a ref. secondary characters are ones I still like a lot but haven't developed to the extent I have them memorised, & they're not always present. tertiary characters just haven't been fully developed yet/I don't have as much of a connection to. I don't really have that strong a connection to basically any of my characters, shrugs.
