Oh sorry! I meant an old friend from coaching who moved to a different country then she showed me some pictures. Hedgehogs aren't allowed to be owned in Australia, I just found out. :c But that doesn't mean I cant love them! (I'm not very familiar with the exotic animal laws in Australia)

I think Australia had exotic animals imported and they messed up the cycle of nature quite a lot.. I guess it was giant toads but I don't know for sure I just watched it in a documentation when I was a kid.

Yes, Australia has a lot of indigenous species that they don't want to disrupt. Unfortunately, people get a pet, no longer want it, and -for some reason- release it into the wild. If they are able to survive, they may take over the niche of another species, disrupting the entire ecosystem.
I assume hedgehogs would be able to survive in the wild there, like they would be able to in Hawaii(they're illegal there for that reason I believe).

I think little Theanine has mites >.< Caught some little white flecks crawling around her face when she was sleeping on me last night. I have an appointment with a vet set up already for Monday. I wanted a new baby check up anyway (and I'm also very nervous about the possibility for a URI since she dumped her head in her dish and inhaled some water).
I had planned on using a vet near where I'll be living starting in the fall... but that's way too far from my hometown. I suppose it's good to have someone close to home as well in case I need them.

Thea's skin is already looking better. They had to sedate her to do their exam... but we got revolution for her mites and the vet said she looks great otherwise!
I think she went through a bit of a growth spurt! She gained 50 grams over the last week and is now almost too big to curl up comfortably in one of my hands!
