Does it ever annoy you when other people base their characters off of famous characters, and it's almost exactly like that character? I've never really come across this, but it might bother me a bit if both appearance and personality were exactly the same for both.

How many characters of yours pass the silhouette test? If I included accessories in the silhouettes I think nearly all of them would - without accessories, maybe 9 of my 15. That's mainly because most of them have things like wings or antlers or are the only character I own of a closed species.

Are you bothered by slight differences between art pieces of your OCs? (i.e. if the 'official' pawpad colour wasn't on the ref and some art showed them one colour, and some art another colour). It's fine with me. I personally really like seeing how different people interpret the same character c:

Had to come answer this because it's one of the things that bugs me. Yes, it does bother me. Very much. Because when you do that, it's not your character anymore. It's the famous character, just in a different species. If you love them that much, incorporate a small part of them into your design, or give your character an accessory with the famous character on it. But you can't claim a character as yours when it's just a copy of another.

sometimes. i have had characters that are based off of (moderately) famous ones -- sometimes by name, color palette, and personality, but never all three. for example, my dutch angel dragon, flynn, shares the name and somewhat of a color palette with one of my favorite characters; however, his design and personality are completely unique. although i did tie this in as a sort of "au" thing with the actual history of him, although he does have a completely separate one.
however, if your character is literally another 100%, then it is not your character. it may be your art, but it is NOT your character. it didn't come from YOU.

im thinking about making my own species. I've made many in the past, but I'd love to have a really orginal one, that maybe in the distant future could become successful. However..
I have no idea about what it might be,
if you have a species idea, pm me, I can pay with 2008-2009 rares or very rares and you'd get to ( most likely) co-own the species !
