The vampire's eyes dilated in terror- watching the beast before him. He was shaking, unable to hold back a weak squeak of pain and rasp as he replied,
"Re-retreat....!"

Ruth was panting, eyes flickering as she took in the scene around them. She saw clearly and time was warped for her now into slow-motion, as she saw every strike coming and was able to easily deflect them. She barely heard the General's whisper over the pounding of her heart, but she sprang away from him quickly, summoning the other werewolves to her side with a quick, clear growl in the tounge of the Redmoon... "My kin, come wash away the blood from your fur. The vampires have faced our power and are retreating to the other side of the great mountains. I wish them warning so that we will not have to unleash our fury against them again. Come now, this battle is won. Let us rejoice in our victory." With that, she craned her neck to the sky and a howl exploded from deep in her throat, growing and sending the vampires skittering in terror.

Evolia broek free from the weak restraint of teh vampires. She slid beside Ruth, her eyes trained on the surrendering vampires. Something close to a howl broke from her muzzle, but it was weak and half hearted. Her mind was still on something else. But she ignored it for now and tried to join in the victory.

Ruth's howl faltered and her head dropped back down as she met Evolia's gaze with an unnerving blue stare. She moved closer until her muzzle brushed Evolia's ear as she whispered, still in Redmoon Tounge, "What bothers you, my sister? The magic of the transformation buzzed in her head. Once dawn broke the horizon, she would be back to normal. She wanted that, but didn't really want this to end either.

Evolia didn't meet her gaze, but lifted her muzzle higher, sending back her message.
"Oh nothing. I think i just have some spring in my paw from the attack. i'll be fine!"
It sounded cheerful, reassuring, even good natured.
But inside she didn't feel that way.
It had to be doubt. But whatever it was, it would wait- now, it was the Clan's first victory. she ahd to be more enthusdiastic. C'mon, how many trio wolve's can fight off a clan of vampires?

Ruth watched Evolia unnervingly for a moment, then leapt forward off the boulder, landing square in a crouch on the ground. Her gaze shifted as she looked around for Wodahs.

Wodhas emerged from the underbrush panting. "There not comeing back for a while!" Feeling a pang of pride, he decided to got to the river to get all the blood off him and clean his wounds.

Ruth nodded, feeling as if she needed to take control for a while to let Evolia sort through her thoughts. She glanced back at Evolia. "I'll go with you," she told him, following him.

Evolia watched after them a few moments. Her tail unfurled slowly around her paws. Then, dejectidly, she turned and padded the opposite direction- into the folage.
The moon washed over her pelt, but it's cold touch didn't improve her mood. She disapeared from view and headed silently into the forest.


Meanwhile....

"Heh!"
The wind ruffled the fur along his thick, short neck- his vivid purple pelt like night silk in the moonlight. He spread his great leathery wings, smelling the skies.
"That was great! The best fight I've ever seen in a long time!"
The huge male panther's curious blue eyes watched the small dot of forest, shaking his broad muzzle,
"That'll teach those leeches a thing or two..." He muttered, "I've always told 'em not to underestimate wolves."
With that he turned and vanished into the mountainsides.

Ruth turned to Wodahs, her white pelt glimmering, her once truimphant blue eyes now dotted with concern. They almost perfectly matched the mysterious shadows that raindrops on a window made when it was light outside. She padded ahead of Wodahs. "Come on, we have to wash this blood off our paws." It was beginning to dry and itch.
