How do you know for sure that one is male and the other female? Petsmart usually is very correct about the sexes of their animals, because they only sell certain sexes per store. My store near me only sells male animals... Some only sell female animals. Have you had a DNA blood test done on them? Also there is a strong likely-hood that your birds are brother and sister. Inbreeding ( Or breeding brother and sister ) birds together is no better than inbreeding cats and dogs. They will likely have deformities and or will have very undesirable traits. The parents will be able to see those traits or deformities and will likely attack them and kill them. THat's just how it is.
Budgies reach sexual maturity at 10 months old on average.
If you just feed and water and watch them, then you don't have a lot on your plate right now, but once they start to have babies you will have triple the amount of work, and it will be tiresome, costly, and time-consuming. It is really not for everyone, and if your parents don't want one bird, they will not want 10 more out of the blue. Talk to them first because they will need to be in on it. I really do not recommend breeding.
WHat is the reason you want to breed in the first place?

I don't want to breed I'm just interesting in HOW you breed. My parents wouldn't like it at ALL but would if the female is already pregnant?Should I still remove the male?Would that effect the babies?Would the male help the female?I hope my budgies aren't pregnant though, because I love my 1 year old female, Blue and would hate to lose her.Do you recommend removing Zebra (the male) immediately?I am 99% sure I have two females and a male.I am pretty sure because I found out that male budgies have light blue- dark purple ceres (noses) and females have light brown-darkish brown ceres.Zebra has a dark blue cere,Fern has a light brown, and Blue has a tannish brown. Is that incorrect?Or did I do it right?

I picked up a new button quail yesterday! His name is either Boone or Miles. What do you think I should name him? He's beautiful and super sweet! Currently he's alone while his new friend hatches.

At least until you get them DNA tested, I suggest temporarily separating them. Female birds don't get "pregnant" but will lay fertile eggs if kept with a male in the right seasons. She may already be carrying the fertile eggs, and you will now pretty soon. Removing the male would not affect the babies growth or lifestyle at all... I actually think it would be better just incase he decides not to like them ( it could happen ). There's no definately saying shes pregnant, but its likely since they're together and it's that time of the year. I would DNA check them ( most avian vets can do it, you can also order a kit online and take it with you and your birds to the vet so they can do it.. You will have to draw blood from the bird to get it. Usually they just clip a toenail a bit too short. )

well keep an open mind.. Its either one more cage or 5 more in the future when your birds breed and have babies. Make sure she knows its for the best and will prevent them from breeding and making 10 more birds.

Yea I told her everything that you told me.My dad is more of a animal person than my mom, but he probably is going to think we don't need a another cage.My mom says 'They would've already bred if they were going to....' and my dad says 'We don't need another cage....'.What time of year do budgies breed?I got all my budgies in like, November or December of last year.
