I have some more information for you guys about the new subspecies!

They have been named the Islander Subspecies, and to the scientists suprise, their natural range goes from the east shores of Africa all the way over to the Philippian Islands, and up to South Korea's shores! They have been found in very small and secluded colonies in Hawaii, and are also found in pairs in Brazil! It is rumored that they were smuggled to these places many years ago as oddities or to help keep specific pest populations down. They are found mostly in flat hot areas with easy access to large bodies of water, much unlike their land and mountain-bound cousins.

As the scientists and breeders have been working with them, they have learned that Islander Wilx have a mostly fish-based diet, though they will steal anything edible that you leave unattended! They tend to be more short tempered due constant harassment in the past that has made them very weary of humans.
However, they have been responding very well to domestication attempts, and will be ready for people to adopt and take home soon!

Here's some other information bits that you guys may like!
They run much smaller then standard wilx, and do not grow any larger then a Australian Shepard! This is a very standard thing, and the people involved in the Islander project have not found any that are bigger then that.
They have a unique fur length that helps their fur dry a lot faster after being in the water.
Their fur is a lot more oily then the Standards, and can be unpleasant to pet if the Wilx is not a diligent groomer. (However this is easily remedied by regular baths!)
A unique Ear type and pupil type have been found, and the rarity of them is much much lower then similar mutations found in Standard Wilx! The breeders have figured out that the ears can be passed down into the domestic stock, and are working on getting the pupils!


You can expect to see the first Islander Wilx up for adoption sometime within the next week!

In other news, I'd like to mention that there are still two breeding slots open in the nursery if you want to breed your wilx, and that the Staff Litter will be moved to a new post and the competitions will all be extended for another month, and will end on July 7th.

icarus's biggest fear is loosing his friends and crewmates! he couldn't live without them and dislikes being alone for too long.

icarus's dream home is to live in a lake house right near the beach. though, that won't be happening any time soon because he's always on the run with his crew!

Mercury's is being abandoned. He can't stand being alone.
Morpehus... people stealing her sandwiches. She gets really possessive of her pbj!
Chris's is getting a mane-cut and having it get dirty. They hate dirt with a passion >~>
Alpha's... He's too stoic to show his fear (but he's really scared of spiders)
Shane's is clowns. (His owner watches a lot of scary moves 'ovo )
Ultramarine's is not being able to hear or smell. She relies a lot on her hearing and scenting abilities with being blind and all, so she'd be completely cut off from the world then. It's a scary thought for her.
Seren's is getting heatstroke. He's gotten one before and he really wants to avoid it.

Where's your Wilx's dream home?
Mercury : Wherever people will tolerate him the most.
Morpheus: Under someones's bed with lots of blankets and pillows and pbj's.
Chris: Somewhere hip and happening with a good Wilx salon.
Alpha: Someplace where he doesn't get his horns caught on stuff. (He gets caught on wall corners a lot)
Shane: Near a car garage. He loves the smell of car oil.
Ultramarine: A big place with lots of space so she doesn't bump into things while moving around.
Seren: In a Astronomy museum.

Do your Wilx know each other? Do they get along or do they bump heads?
Mine all know each other somehow, be it through their owners or just passing by.
Mercury knows all of my pack the most. He also know Eternal_Flames Dosodo and Cente. He gets along with most wilx, but comes off as creepy or unsettling.
Morpheus has mostly interacted with Mercruy and Ultra, and is very indifferent with them. She's always too sleepy to hold a proper conversation with either of them.
Chris does not get along with the pack at all, and butts heads the most with Alpha. They argue a lot.
Alpha doesn't really interact with any of the pack but Chris on a regular basis, and dislikes how obsessive Chisis with their hair.
Shane is the most isolated of the pack, but he's run into Mercury and Ultra a few times.
Ultra knows everyone very well, and likes them all. They don't like her though, due to her habit of biting things to identify them.
Seren Hasn't been introduced at all yet, so his interactions are very minimal. Mercury knows about him though.

What is your Wilx's greatest fear? Why?
Reform:
Oleander: Oleander is scared of rejection and of dying. He doesn't like to be wrong, and it scares him that he might be wrong after working up the courage to say something important. He's scared of dying because he doesn't like to think about his life ever ending, about just... not existing.
Koi: Koi is scared of being alone and knots that are tied larger than her own head. She's always been around people her whole life, and when she's alone she can't be sure what's real and what's not; she won't have someone else to tell her what happens to her. The knots are just unreasonably big, and she can't stand them.
Where's your Wilx's dream home?
Reform: Reform lives in an old abandoned car garage/auto store that's been overgrown by local plants. He likes it there pretty well, but he's always dreamed of living in a nice RV, always on the road, staying wherever he can find the space.
Oleander: Oleander would love to live on a cruise ship. He loves the sea, but he also loves his luxuries and cruise ships seem like a nice mix of each, without having to go to the trouble of buying and hiring staff for a yacht.
Koi: Koi already lives in a big city, and she loves it. Anything more she could want would be a bigger apartment with more people.
Do your Wilx know each other? Do they get along or do they bump heads?
My Wilx have probably all met each other at some point, but they don't know each other per se. They would probably get along okay, as long as they met at a place Oleander approved of.

What is your Wilx's greatest fear? Why?
Braeden:
Well he's scared of a lot of things, but falling in love has to the biggest one. He lost his parents when he was younger, literally, he lost them. As in, walking around and suddenly going 'oh, I'm lost'. Suddenly getting lost and loosing his parents, which he had a great relationship with made him afraid of loving anyone else. Simple reasoning too, if he were to love something, and loose it once more, the pain would be even greater than before.
Milis Beag:
Since Milis is very small for a wilx, her greatest fear is taller wilx. Specifically, getting squashed or stepped on by them. Being around taller wilx make her anxious and if they're taller then your average wilx, it can be terrifying.
Sonha:
Being neglected by others, or left out purposely is Sonha's number one fear. Although she doesn't necessarily need someone around her all of the time, and doesn't need extra support from her friends, if she finds out that she is being neglected or betrayed by those around her, she gets scared of reality. Of course this fear caused her to practically paint herself to make her appearance more unique, so others wouldn't get bored of her.
Zach:
Ghosts. That's really it, there are no reasons. He just hates ghosts, ghost related stories and pranks involving ghosts.




Where's your Wilx's dream home?
Braeden:
Probably a nice comfy spot in the country side where he can concentrate on his job with peace of mind. No interruptions, no annoying people to deal with and no worries of getting attached to someone else. A small, manageable cottage would be ideal.
Milis Beag:
Anywhere with at least one other wilx/person. Considering that she hates, big, open spaces, an apartment would be perfect. An apartment with roommates, the bigger the apartment, the more roommates she would like to have. Preferably somewhere near the edge of a busy town.
Sonha:
Sonha is very adaptable to change naturally, so it really never bothers her where she lives or where she calls 'home'. Living alone or having roommates, either way is fine. Although she must have at least one friend within walking distance near her or else she'll be uneasy.
Zach:
Somewhere in the city. Bright lights, loud noises, different aromas etc. City life is the way to go for him and adores everything about it. Especially cities that have annual celebrations, such as new years.

Braeden and Sonha don't know each other, Zach or Milis. However Milis and Zach know each other, and become the king and queen of salt whenever they talk to each other. Throwing insults back and forth at each other like there is no tomorrow. Zach teases the living daylight out of her for being so small, and she retaliates by spooking him with ghost jokes/stories.

What is your Wilx's greatest fear? Why?
Two words: burnt food. Fizzle hates, hates, hates the smell, the idea, the taste, everything about burning the food that he cooks. As an aspiring, and sometimes successful, chef burnt food only means one thing to Fizzle; failure. Which... come to think of it.. actually means his 'burnt food' fear is actually a fear of failure poorly disguised in a dislike for burnt food.

Where's your Wilx's dream home?
Fizzle has poured hours and hours of his time into designing his future restaurant. Whose got time for thinking about homes? Although one thing is for sure, wherever he lives will have a magnificent kitchen. Ooo, maybe he'll even live above his future restaurant~!

Well, I only have one Wilx thus far... but I would say Fizzle knows himself pretty well! He definitely talks to himself all the time, and he and himself tend to get along pretty well.

The first batch of Islander Wilx have been released! Make sure you read everything in the adopt post, there's important stuff to read there!

With the release of the new subsepcies, it's also time to tell you guys about their special traits as well!

• Royal Ears - Uncommon - Ears with crown-tine shapes. The shape can vary, but has a general standard shape. May only be passed down to offspring in Islander x Islander breedings.
• Patchy Fur - Common - A fur type unique to Islander Wilx. All wilx with this fur type are either Islander wilx, or Islander/Standard hybrids. Passes down very easily to pups.
• Small Stature - Extremely common - All wilx in the Islander lines are the size of Autralian Shepards. It is one of the key factors to the breed, and is always paired with the patchy fur type.
• Shimmer Pupils - Uncommon - A pupil shape unique to pure-bred Islanders. Their pupils are in the shape of a 4 pointed shimmer (think anime sparkles). They can be passed down in islander x islander breedings.

From here on out, Islander wilx will be around a lot more, so don't worry if you guys don't get one right away! There are more on the way!
