While everyone else was busy looking for injured crew members and making sure they were all okay, Philip was in the cockpit, checking on the system damages and weighing the odds. Landing on an unexplored planet was of course a risk, but they didn’t have many options left. Either they tried landing the ship there, which could go horribly wrong and kill them, or they’d all go floating around in space, which meant immediate death for all of them. Both didn’t sound great, though the first one still seemed to be better than the second option, right? Worth an attempt.
“Captain? We need to pick up speed if we want to land on said planet. The systems are about to fail completely, so we need to get there before that happens. However, once we entered the atmosphere, there won’t be enough time to slow down for a smooth landing. Short, we will most likely hit hard on the ground. Expecting severe damage to the ship, and, in the worst case, death of the crew. But if we don’t accelerate now, there’s no chance we’ll survive”, Philip explained. He could help the pilot to get this ship down, but there was absolutely no guarantee any of them would survive. It was a pretty unfortunate situation.

Theo nodded in agreement. "We took a heavy hit. Anything we do is going to cause casualties at this point. May as well minimize losses. We're close enough that thrusters should be enough. Save the engines for the decent." He clapped the young android on the shoulder. "Have faith in our engineers, son. They'll buy us enough time to set her down as gently as we can." He gave gave his shoulder a reassuring pat and continued. "Right now, I need for you to calculate our angel of entry. We don't need anything burning straight off the hull when we enter the atmosphere. If you can get it just right, we can glide her on down to the surface, like landing an 21st century aircraft."

Wesley was in the zone.
The engineer's hands were a blur, flying from console, to cable, to console again. She was running through the ship's systems, trying to find any way she could to get more power. She had life support on the minimum amount necessary for them to survive, she'd taken environmental controls offline entirely, there were only a few more systems she could compromise without endangering them all, and those were all locked behind administrative aces. Typical. The beauraucracy was going to get them all killed. "Minerva!" Wesley called out, "get up to the helm, see if you can do anything to help get us down." After the AI departed, Wesley turned back to the computer. "ALEC!" she said, "I need you to take the artificial gravity and fire containment protocols offline, and divert every bit of power you can to the shields and engines! We're gonna need all of it, or when we hit that planet the atmosphere's going to tear us apart!"

Rikimaru swept their hair away from the back of their neck to cool down. Turning on their heel to escape the awkward situation regarding Nicholas, the second in command strode off. Managing to work their way back to the med bay, they greeted Monty with a pat. "Come on, boy. I think Reinen's gonna be fine but we should see about the rest of us. I'd hate to think I got you from that pound just for you to die out here."
Rikimaru led Monty to the cockpit and stuck their head inside. "Sir? I have Reinen in the med bay for a concussion. I think he'll be okay. What's our status?"

"Twenty-first century. Lots of plane crashes during that time. Mainly terrorists, but also malfunctions...", he was thinking aloud. He had seen old records. Documentations. Statistics. To learn. Everything history related was interesting to him. Like a kid enjoyed reading fairy tales and stories with talking animals, Philip liked gathering all the information he could find about the past, from Ancient Egypt to Second World War to the modern era. Thankfully, it didn't take him long to learn. He didn't have to repeat things over and over again. Once he had access to information, it was there, stored in his hard drive.
Anyways, back to the things that really mattered. He nodded slightly. "I see what I can do. Can't promise anything. Will be tough. Better gather everyone who's not needed anywhere else in the common room. Out of damaged or hazardous areas." He was already working on figuring out how they should approach the ground while talking to the Captain. Definitely wouldn't be a soft landing, but with some luck, they could avoid a total crash. Hopefully. Because they'd have to repair the ship if they wanted to get away from that planet anytime soon.

Theo acknowledged his second-in-command as they came into Aries section. Blast. Reinen was hurt. The kid was always getting himself skinned up somehow. "Do what you can, Phil." He said to the android. Turning to Rikimaru he rattled off ever damaged system. "If the team in Taurus is doing what they were hired for, we can reach that fifth plenet in about twenty minutes on thrusters. Phil is calculating the trajectory so we don't burn up like tissue paper in the atmo. Might be a bumpy landing. Can't be sure until we get there. How are you holding up?"

ALEC
Alec flickered into view for a moment, giving a short salute before disappearing again. Divert all power to the engines and shields... okay... there we go... He'd already predicted something similar happening, and most of his attention was already on the engines, so it wasn't too difficult for the AI to carry out the tasks he'd been given. Inside the ship's database, he grinned slightly, or at least the digital equivalent of doing so. Despite there being a very real chance of death for everyone onboard, he still thought it would be rather entertaining to watch the crew's reaction to sudden antigravity.
...And... done. The entire ship's electricity was now being channeled into a few select mechanisms- the engines, the shields, the computer in the cockpit, and life support. A little too late, Alec realized that maybe he should have warned everyone about turning off gravity and light throughout the ship. Oh, well, too late for that now- they'd just have to deal with it.

Rikimaru opened their mouth to answer but was cut off by the sudden realization that the gravity and lights had been turned off and they were now floating in darkness. They reached out to grab Monty to ensure his safety and grabbed onto a nearby beam for support. "Fine, though I suspect I and the folks down at engineering need to have a discussion on health concerns..." They mumbled the rest under their breath, recalling the sandwich incident.

And there went the gravity. Because who needs to stand on the ground anyway. The android didn’t mind floating, he just hadn’t been prepared for this. He had to find something to hold on to, so he could keep working on his calculations. After opening a small holographic map, he zoomed in on the planet. Even more important than the angle, was finding a good spot to land – if they got too close to hills or mountains, they were dead. If they ended up in the water, they might survive if they made it out of the ship in time, but the ship itself would be lost. Philip looked at the terrain, zoomed in and out again, contemplating. Eventually, after a few minutes of consideration, he marked a route on the map, from their current position to a suitable landing spot. It wasn’t ideal, but the best he could do right now. They didn’t have the time to find other options, so this had to be good enough. If nothing else went wrong, they should get down there alive. Not a pleasant landing, though given their situation, that shouldn’t bother them too much anymore.

Monty whimpered uncertainly, kicking his hind legs out feebly to test the anti-gravity. He had of course been put in anti-gravity before to test his reaction but he didn't like it either way. Rikimaru shushed him and pet his fur with the hand they were holding him with. When Monty continued to struggle Riki let him go. Monty began to pant as he struggled to doggy paddle towards the captain. Rikimaru grabbed their dog gently by the scruff and pulled him back out of the captain's way.
