Hoard Discussion Thread v.5

My OCD makes it so I have to finish a hoard if I have a goal. If I go over, I can't have them in there.

Somewhat the same for that; but if I go over my limit, then I have to add another 10+ to the goal.
20 would go up to 40/50
40 up to 50
59 up to 100 and so on. I can never take away a pet from a hoard group because it's always there in the back of my mind.

Do you prefer large or small hoards? Or both? Why?

Since we can't change the settings on how many pets we can display per page, my OCD brain just wants one page. Since it usually can't see the other pets, so it thinks it is pointless to hoard more.
So: small hoards.
It's also not as frustrating trying to reach the goal when we speak about the popular/harder to get outcomes.

I prefer small hoards. My usual hoardsize is 25, it isn't too hard to gather this amount of pets.
I also have a few hoards with a goal of 100 - but they are taking so long to complete (although it's a nice challenge). So I guess I'm more the convenient-hoarder :D


Yesterday I finished I See The Love In Your Eyes.
Although I might try to switch some of the grey and green bow outcomes for the other two. I only got 2 outcomes with the pink bow, and 3 of the Calico colored ones, which is bothering me ^^'




Also, I couldn't resist and traded for another Husky, although I wanted to take a break from trading for these, since I'm very low on fodder and I usually overpay for them quite a bit .____.
But I just can't help myself...so here's Husky number 101!

I prefer smaller, definitely. One page always looks so nice & neat. 90% of my hoards are only 20-30 pets. I consider 50 a happy medium, and 100 is absolutely as high as I'll ever go for a limited hoard, but I may never do that again tbh. I really enjoy the simplicity and easy going-ness of 20-30 pet hoards and how quickly the satisfaction comes with completing them.

I do both, with some of my hoards being as small as 10 (especially lions, it seems). But I'll be honest, I think I like the larger ones better. If I didn't hoard so many pets I would probably make all my hoards a lot bigger than they are, but with the sheer amount of hoards I'm starting, compared to how passive I have gotten about trading, I really can't afford making them all big.

Currently I have a vague plan of re-opening some of my smallest hoards to get all the numbers up to at least 30, but before I do that, I'll have to finish at least some of my active ones.
Not to mention that I already have a habit of constantly shooting past my original goals c:

I like it best when I can have numbers like 100, 300, etc., but it's just not possible for someone like me.

I collect things I like every time I see them somewhere. Then sort them into groups. For me hoarding isn't a hobby or mission or something I choose to do. It's a compulsion.
There's no such thing as a small hoard. There's only a hoard I haven't found more of yet.

Thanks everyone who answered my question, it's interesting to hear everyones feelings and opinions about it. It seems like a few of you hoard out of compulsion, I'd say I do that too. I'm a collector by nature, I collect rocks, toys, I always want more IRL pets but I actively try not to collect those. So I thought I'd answer my own question.

I prefer larger hoards, to me there's something satisfying about having pages and and pages of pets. Especially if it's a pet I really like. This is why I've never hoarded rares or done a mini hoard. When I hoard, I just want a lot of that pet, and with rares it's much harder to get a lot of a pet.

But there's a quite a few pets I like that would be more difficult to get, that's why I started a mini hoard. Gonna try it out, see if this is something I enjoy or not. Honestly, I think everyone has a differently style of hoarding and sometimes certain kinds of hoard only work for certain kinds of people. Like, I'm too lazy for a checkered hoard x'D

Yeah I could never do a true checkered hoar . I couldn't part with the pets that didn't fit. I'd feel bad... guilty...like I was rejecting and abandoning them. Throwing them away just because they're not the right outcome in the right order.
