Personality (800 words or less);;
Pavia is a soft-spoken bean that worries a lot. She double-checks everything she does, always considers every angle, and may cry when she doesn’t understand things. This may sound quite negative, but if Pavia can get through her worry, she is very good at solving arguments and various problems. Her tendency to see everything that could go wrong translates into an ability to guess possible outcomes, and if they are not good, Pavia can try to fix them. Pavia often guesses that something will go wrong with what someone else is doing, but is often afraid to speak up about it before it’s too late. Pavia, as usual, will then worry about it until the she finds out what will happen. Pavia wants to be able to share her skill with the world, but is just to shy. As you may have guessed, this bean is a perfectionist, meaning she fears getting things wrong. This is where the crying comes in. If Pavia doesn’t have all the information on something or doesn’t understand it, then it doesn’t meet her self-standards. What she does not get is that her 90 percent is as good as many other’s 100 percent. She always works to the best of her abilities (if she isn’t shut down by self doubt) and produces great work.
Pavia’s also an avid writer who loves to use her words to paint a picture. She writes all the time, making her school projects into creative writing pieces whenever she can. Her room is covered in unwritten and written stories, notebook piles around her bed. She has entered quite a few writing contests (online of course, she hasn’t gotten the courage to show anyone she knows her work) and gotten honorable mentions. The entire time during judging, Pavia worries and then, when the results come in, she doesn’t mind losing. Maybe it’s just the build up that gets her.
Anyway, back to her worrying problem. Pavia has a great relationship with her single father, and he is always supporting her. When Pavia first started her crying and having intensely negative views, he had no idea what to do, but now he has worked to figure out how to calm her down. He doesn’t always get it right, and he doesn’t know how to solve her problems, but that’s where a therapist comes in, we will get to that in the background.
As for her mom, Pavia visits her every other weekend. After the divorce, it was very hard for her to spend time with her mom, who was declared incompetent to care for Pavia. Now, as a teen, Pavia is happy that her mom is in rehab and is fit to care for her. Slowly but surely they are becoming friends.
Background (800 words or less);;
Pavia was born in a quiet town where everyone knew each other (whether they liked it or not) and nothing really happened. Her parents met in in collage, had her after they finished and stayed in that very town. Pavia was a quiet baby, rarely crying or making a fuss, and things were pretty easy. Sadly, not every family story is happy. As money ran tight and Pavia's mom started drinking, her parent's love ran out. Pavia's mom would always say that her father was trying to take the child away from her and that it was his fault for not getting a stable job (He is an author) while she worked her butt off. As they fought, Pavia would cry in bed, trying desperately to remember when she was a baby and things were better.
When Pavia entered 3rd grade, her parents split up. It was just too much. Days went by as Pavia tried to comfort her father, as she wasn't allowed to see her until the divorce details were set up. For two years, Pavia didn't see her mother, and spent all of her spare time trying to comfort her father. Like some kids who's parents are divorced, Pavia sometimes blamed herself, and still does at times. This led to a lot of sadness in the house. However, life does go on, and things start to repair. Pavia's father pulled himself up and promised the woman he fell in love with back then that he would care for their child. Seeing Pavia grow and flourish helped him to smile again. As she got older and the negativity that she had always had grew stronger, things got harder for her father. He sometimes feels that he has let her down. The next step in their relationship is to help each other forgive themselves.
As for Pavia's mom, three years after the divorce, she got into rehab and made some friends to help support her. She has started taking Pavia on some weekends and is able to legally care for her. Things are extremely quiet between the two of them, but a hug here and there, her mom giving a bit of help on homework, and the little things so love budding again.
Anything else you'd like to say about her? (200 words or less);;
Pavia is an avid collector of post-its. Big one, small ones, all colors of the rainbow and hundreds of shapes. Pavia uses these to fill her room walls with notes, story ideas, problems she sees, and quotes. She will only use a few from the stack then keeps the rest in a drawer. She;s quite protective of them, and checks them each night for the tiny possibility of 'water damage'.
