It's really good! Some of the plotlines are actually explained in the DOTC and it makes you feel like the Erins actually planned things. Quite shocking, for them.

Some of it does contradict the original guides (code of the clans in particular) but only in things that would make sense from a "cat storytelling" point of view, like the way leaders decided to make clans, etc. Gray Wing was the original Gary-stu, lol. Watch out Firestar!

*sigh* i believe i somehow lost my love for warrior cats, which is sad, because it's a fantastic series and Bluestar and her braveness and all had become something i still am looking up to.
the stars became a new meaning and when i found out who i really am, even more...but somehow the exitement is gone...
i don't know, i read the first two arcs within two weeks, but the third one somehow killed it...
i mean, i'm still marvelling how many great books they have written! (and I'm still shipping cinder x fire) but, well, yeah...

It was such a good ship.... until Storm showed up. I really hated her, but she was a good match for Clear Sky. Honestly I 'm somewhat glad Turtle Tail died when she did because I would hate it even more to have to see her handle Gray Wing's death. Turtle Tail was actually one of my least favorite characters, but she was a good ship with Gray Wing.

Switching topics a bit, what does everyone think of One Eye? (DOTC version) He's probably the best written villain in all of Warriors in my opinion, with a close second being Clear Sky and then Scourge.

Getting a little off topic from the above posts, but does it seem unfair to everyone else that Mapleshade went to The Dark Forest?

I get that her dead kits were just a hallucination, but she thought they were real and was just trying to avenge them! Not to mention the fact that all the cats she killed were jerks. Appledusk completely left her, Frecklewish watched the kits drown, and Ravenwing got her kicked out! Plus the whole of ThunderClan! It's not entirely her fault that they all assumed the father was Birchwhateverthenamewas! It just confused me.

In my opinion, it could somewhat make sense for her to be in the Dark Forest. All the cats were jerks, but she did kill them. By that same logic though, any killer could go the the Dark Forest. The difference with Mapleshade is that she killed every cat on purpose, even though it was not neccesary for her survival (warrior code violation). There's a lot of flaws with this, though, because the warrior code has been broken by almost every cat yet they're still in Starclan. The other thing is that she was somewhat crazy while she killed those cats, like Bluestar, so this should have been excused. As far as evil wise, she is about the same level as Ashfur, so she should have been been able to choose between Starclan or Dark Forest for herself.
On a side note, why is Ashfur in starclan but not Thistleclaw? Thistleclaw didn't actually kill anything nor did he show signs of wanting to kill cats/plotting, he just was very ambitious. He simply had the mindset of "Thunderclan is stronger when the other clans are weaker", which was reinforced after Snowfur's death via Shadowclan chase. The mindset isn't exactly wrong though, and by the simple fact that border disputes are even existent would prove that every cat showcases this in some way. Thistleclaw just felt this more extremely than others. It irks me when people say argue that he's evil because he trained in the dark forest, because look at Ivypool, Brambleclaw, Lionblaze, etc. They all turned out fine! I might just be saying this because Thistleclaw is one of my favorite cats in the books and is such a well developed character. I really wanted to see more of him. :)

Oh yeah definitely! Actually a lot of cats went to StarClan or The Dark Forest for really weird reasons or they didn't deserve to.

Thistleclaw- Like you said he was just ambitious. I personally think he would have been a great leader. Sure he probably wouldn't have been nice to the other Clans, but Bluefur made it sound like he was going to kill everyone and be like Brokenstar. Yes he was training in The Dark Forest, learning how to do death blows, but I don't think he would actually use it in battle.

Mapleshade- ^^^^^^^

Ashfur- he was in on killing Firestar and tried to kill Lionblaze, Hollyleaf, and Jayfeather. Yet he goes to StarClan? Plus Yellowfangs excuse was horrible. He just loved to much I guess.

Those are just three, but there are definitely more out there.

Plus I'm surprised the Warrior Code matters at this point. Look at all the forbidden loves! (I don't hate all of these! It's just a list. I'm only counting actual relationships not crushes)
