I has 3 cats, and they are the cutest 3 things you could ever see, apart from Grumpy Cat, I mean. Two of them are brothers; one of which is a tuxedo cat, the other is a simple black cat, both 3 years old. the other one, he's a gray tabby, about 10 months, and they are all SO CUTE!

Cats, cats, cats, cats, CATS!

She's a pretty decent traveler but this'll be the longest car ride she's ever been on. She'll have a carrier that she can go in (but she'll be allowed out whenever I'm not driving) and I plan on buying a couple disposable litterboxes that she can use in the car. Anything else I should keep in mind?
Don't be surprised if she doesn't use the litterbox due to the stress.
When I knew I'd be making a 12 hour drive with my cats, I made sure they were very comfortable with their crates. They were fed in them, they slept in them and our games involved them going in them. That way the crate would be familiar when they were put in the moving truck. A car should be less stressful since it wont be as loud as a truck.
Anyway, be prepared for a lot of crying and scratching at first. When I took my cats, it took about half an hour for them to settle and about an hour for them to actually go to sleep in their crate. I also stopped a lot and let them out to roam the truck for 15-20 minutes at a time. During this time, I offered them water, litterbox access and special treats. I also noticed they seemed much more comfortable if I covered their crate, so that might be worth considering!
If you're going to be crossing state lines, make sure her rabies vaccination is up to date and keep the proof with you/on her!
cool. i keep dreaming of animals death if i do not continue feeding animals i do not even own i found out what it meant pretty interesting . if your animal requires 40 percent fat in itś food, lus vet that is abuse if you do it lower then that with ferrets or any animal . the nightmare of a un caring person haunt me or maybe itś way more then that . eh, some people suck at any caring or kid taking care of they get someone else do it ...cat food is a relative topic to cats / kitten food.

Uh, I'm not sure what you're trying to say loweadalwolf? (Excuse my not using an accent. On phone)
"Only ignorance! Only ignorance! How can you talk about only ignorance? Don't you know that it is the worst thing in the world, next to wickedness? - and which does the most mischief, heaven only knows. If people can say 'Oh! I did not know, I did not mean any harm,' they think it is all right."

Oh hey, I didn't know that there was a cat thread! This is great news for me :D
I have one cat at the moment, a large ginger and white one. We got him from the local cat shelter in October/November. I'd be volunteering there for nearly a year when I first met him and I just remember thinking that he was the most beautiful cat I had ever seen. He'd been brought back to the shelter after being re-homed because he wasn't settling in (hissing at people, probably going for them a bit) but from the way his previous owners were describing it, it sounded like they'd been dragging him out from his hiding places and trying to force him to be near them. It was a little difficult for him to settle with us as well. For the first three months he refused to have anything to do with anyone and would hiss at us whenever we went near him but now he's the most affectionate cat in the world.
Does anybody else have any rescue cats or volunteer/work at an animal rescue?
Also does anybody watch 'My Cat from Hell'? My mum recorded some episodes for me about two weeks ago and I'm really enjoying it! I think if I'd discovered it sooner I could of used some of the things that were mentioned to help my cat settle in easier.

Yeppers! I've currently got a precious orange tabby that we got from a shelter. He had previously belonged to an old woman who passed away and none of her family wanted to keep him. All of the cats I've ever had have been shelter cats or strays that we adopted straight off the street.
Ah yes My Cat from Hell! I love Jackson Galaxy, his tips and methods are super helpful. He's an awesome cat behaviorist and he cares about cats so much <3

All three of our cats came from shelters! Naya and Loki both came from the same shelter in Texas and Koda came from a shelter in Kansas.
I've never picked a cat up off the street and adopted them. I do trap cats and take them to the shelter though.

I have two cats. I have a tortieshell she-cat called Jenny and she's really cute but vicious. She hates our other cat, Ninja (a black tom) who's a rescue cat. We got Ninja because we used to have a bengal called Charlie but we think some gypsies stole him

Jenny loved playing with Charlie when she was a kitten and she looked sad with no one to play with when we were all out so we got Ninja. They can be friends sometimes

I really want to get them on CS
