OK, so I'm not as active here as I likely should be, but with the next batch of Pokémon Sun and Moon info getting closer and closer to being revealed, I feel the need to announce this-
I'll actually be taking a hiatus of sorts from this club to avoid spoiling any new Pokémon (besides the first-stage starters and mascots). I'll be gone from when they reveal that new information, to when I finish the game after its release. I want to have another experience like I had when X and Y were released, discovering (many of) the new Pokémon as I played; that was extremely interesting for me. c: Last time, some got spoiled for me, so I'll try to make this time even better.

I do have a few days to go until then, though. Now, let me try preventing my announcement from killing the club. xD *Ahem*

So, rather recently, I finally got and started playing The Wonderful 101. Everyone in our house had their eye on that game since before it even came out, so I'm not sure why we didn't end up getting it sooner. BUT ANYWAY. I'm loving it so much; it's one of the most spectacular, over-the-top things I've ever seen. >w< I don't think I've ever played anything like it before; there are a lot of interesting things about it. For example, it's the first game I've ever played with quick time events (that I can remember), which I find really neat. They can even enhance the already massive-scale boss fights (which are some of my favorite parts).
However, a particularly-impressive thing about this game is how big and challenging it is. It's really putting my precision and reflexes to the test. For example, I just unlocked Hero Time, which is a very useful technique that can give you a great advantage, but it'll only activate if you Unite Spring-dodge an attack with exactly the right timing. Really; it's so easy to press the button just a fraction of a second too late, get quite hurt, and have the whole team be scrambled. Then, you have to run around and gather everyone again before you can do anything else. (It's so satisfying when it works, though; it's incredibly cool. Literally everything in the area besides the team slows down for a bit.)

I've been thinking about getting the wonderful 101! Purely because its developed by platinum games, my obvious favourite game company haha ^^"
I love games that require an actual skill that you have to better yourself at to play through and now I might actually buy it!

Excellent~ It really is something; I'm only playing it on Normal difficulty, and it's still surprisingly tricky. Also, aside from the gameplay, it has a good mix of humor, action, and drama, and the (many) characters are just so fun. x3 (I've tried to pick favorites. I basically failed.)
One of my favorite challenging aspects is, of course, finding and gathering all of the Wonderful Ones. I have over half of them at the moment, but I feel like I've missed at least some so far. I think it's going to take me a while of replaying levels to get every last one once I beat the game. Especially if a few of them turn out to be special, secret characters or something.

I'm not sure if it's just me being easily-impressed, but... yep, I think the game's pretty excellent.

(Seeing as this game is Wii U exclusive, and even has minor representation in SSB4, I'm guessing it's fine to discuss here, right?)

Of course it's okay to discuss Wonderful 101! I've never really been interested in buying it but because of what you said and the price I am now considering it.

I'm going to get Fire Emblem Awakening! I found a place in eBay that is selling download codes for it for a nice price. Also I was wondering if I don't have anything set as my "state" on my 3ds will it try to charge my account (there's nothing in it) for a us code from Canada?

@ Sax and Lyndsey-
Hey, maybe, in the future, we'll all have played it and end up having big discussions about it together. x3 If either of you do decide to buy it, though, I should probably mention that we had to buy our copy online. I'm not sure if it's the same way outside of North America, but the game doesn't seem to be sold new in stores anymore (at least not around here, anyway).

@ Eggnog-
Aahh, I love Fire Emblem Awakening~ ;v; I'm currently playing it, too. I got it for Christmas in 2014, but am taking my sweet, sweet time getting through it. With most of that time going towards excessively training my units to prevent their untimely doom. (It's worked so far; no casualties yet, and I think I'm about halfway through.)

-----

Well, the Pokémon announcement is right around the corner, so it's time for me to say goodbye as I head into my spoiler-free semi-hibernation. I hope everyone has fun, with both the aforementioned announcement being practically here and E3 being in a little less than two weeks. c: I'll return to this club after I play through Pokémon Moon (I'm quite sure that's the version I'll get). See you then, everyone. <3
