God, I still remember when the site first allowed accounts. I claimed all my old pets because I kept all of their codes on the old notepad app on an old Windows computer xD Holy cow it's been a wild 8 years

Back when we used the old layouts (the tan layout and the first green one that you see above), the website wasn't as connected to the forums as it is now.
So when you clicked to go to the Forums, you'd see a completely different site / layout, and you had to switch between the site and the forums, rather than being able to see stuff like your trade center (when on the forums) and PMs (when on the main site) and manage your whole account as easily as now.
The current type of layout the site uses makes it much easier to navigate, as it lets you browse site and forums, and even the subsections of the website, more fluently.

The old layout also didn't have all the neat sub-menu links like you have now when hovering over the links in the header section.
(Granted, they weren't added immediately together with the current layout, but you wouldn't believe how used one grows to them.)

I like how the old layout looked, but as far as the browsing experience goes, things have improved a lot c:
That aside, I remember when we switched from the tan layout to the old green one, it was so intense on my eyes, wow.
Have you ever used the CSGreen layout? Try it.
Bonus points if your regular layout is something easy on the eyes like CSBusiness.
The old green isn't this intense, but it's a similar experience still :'D

You could trade early 2010s for late 2009s, and same with early 09s to late 08s. And that was before the rarity system got wonked up and people began to hype demands for certain species, goodness I had such a heart attack with the changes!

I don't really remember the old times as I wasn't active here for some years right after I joined, I only visited when I have free time and just adopt one of each pet that is available (lol my mistake back then).
When the items where introduced in decorating the pets I was so happy and amazed, that's why I have some fondness with my xmas pocky item.

I did the same thing! When I first joined I just adopted like 1 or 2 pets a month then I lost my account info then I made this account and Tessa helped me get my old pets back but when I came back all my pets were very rare and I didn't know a thing about the Rares list so I lost them due to poor trading lol

awh, i remember when the last litter of owls and spiders was released in the original adopts around, what, four years ago? (wow, now i feel old). i was dying....i love the spiders!
and of course the old equi lines. i still don't know if i'm happy or sad they changed...of course it had to be done, no question. just missing the good old happy expression of eg the champoinship horses xD they looked like "I'm fab and i know it"
