Okay guys, I need your input. I feel like the community is not super active and that part of it is a lack of interest in developing the characters or just a general lack of interest in the species itself.
I've seen how quickly roleplays have failed and the inactivity in other zver threads. I've tried offering extra slots for activity and though it worked for a month or so, that didn't last.

I guess what I'm asking is, what do you guys need/want/seek to be active in a species. What can I do to help the fanclub grow and become active?
It seems to me that the real key to a successful adoptable is that people come for the art and stay for the community. I think we've got the first part down, but with an inactive fanclub, adoptees are dwindling and I don't know how to fix it

Oh noes! Um, perhaps we could do some events? I've seen that people tend to like events, as long as they aren't too stressful on the artists. That could be fun!

I second Sky's mention for events.
As for the event details, I personally like events which stick to the cs boards and/or have a "roleplay" or "story" it follows, sort of like an interactive event. I liked the events zvers held in the past, but sadly, due to the join.me stuff I couldn't participate in a lot of it, so I would suggest for future maybe more cs based points / prizes to be won? Scavenger hunts are fun sometimes.

Maybe a bit art trade / point gaining system like rpws has? That might make users more active with drawing gift art, perhaps? Love letters? Item shop?

I'm not sure what you mean with the cs based points/prizes? Like have ways for people to win the prizes on CS? I did a scavenger hunt a couple of times with previous species I ran and they worked out fairly well until people figured out how to cheat to find the hidden stuff.
Can you PM me and explain more about the rpw system? I've never really looked into the species and I'm not sure where to even look after scanning through their main thread xD

The only issue with art and what not is that not everyone may have access to a tablet or a way to make art ;v;
I've been stuck on mobile on data for almost a month now and not everyone can do decent art either qvq;;

Basically its a Murder Mystery game. There are two factions along with neutral parties that players get randomly put in to and all receive roles via PM. A "Town" faction consisting of innocents who's goal to help their faction win, however this group does not know who is in their faction. A "Mafia" faction knows who's in their faction and their goal is to kill the "Town" faction. The neutral parties are groups who's goal is to keep themselves alive.

Every Day within the game (usually, GM's make them about 22 hours long from the first morning post) with an exception to the first day, there's a lynch vote to kill off other players. During night phases, players that have special roles can use abilities to kill, protect, or investigate other players.

Depending on the setting and plot of the mafia game, the faction names and roles can change to fit the game's theme. NPC's are often used in mafia games, and players are allowed to ask the NPC's about the area. Roleplaying is optional in the game.

I hope this makes sense! Perhaps I can set up a test game and see how it goes?
