Brooklyn sat alone on a short stone wall. She studied a small knife that she held in her hands. She ran her hand along the smooth side deep in thought. She was a mixed. She hated it. She hated demons and hated to think of herself as even part demon. She slid her thumb across the edge of the blade to test it's sharpness. Small droplets of blood formed, gathered, then dripped on to the ground below her. She stared at her thumb seemingly emotionlessly but truly feeling satisfied by her work of sharpening it.

Ashton took his hand off of his knife. He wasn't entirely sure why. He had never hesitated to attack a demon before but this one was different. She seemed harmless and defenseless. He would even go as far as to say that she seemed innocent. Something he had never seen in a demon before. "Ashton," he said without completely realizing it. "Ummm, what's yours?" He couldn't believe he was talking to a demon.
