She coughed as she rolled over to be face to face with Steve, their stomachs against each other. "Thanks... Are you hurt?" Her voice was shaking and her eyes were watering, she thought for sure she was gonna die.

He gasped as she fell but sighed as Steve caught her, walking over he bent down and whispered in his ear, "Dude she's bipolar. How cool is that!" He laughed and sat back.

As Coal hit the ground, Ella was right there, trying to stifle a laugh as she practically crashed into Steve, she bent down near her friend, "this may be a stupid question, but are you okay?"

He turned his head slightly to glare at Scott, "not the time," he whispered back, before turning to Coal, "I just hurt my shoulder I think."

Steve just laughed, turned to Scott, and motioned Coal and Ella, "I don't see why they keep running," he rubbed his hand across this forehead and down his face, "it doesn't help anything."

She froze, confusion on her face. Ella had never questioned her like this before, "Ella, they work for SHIELD." She begged in her head that that was enough reason, she held up her hands and took a few steps back. "Look, I love you Ella but if you don't wanna come I'll find a way to survive. I am not going with them..." Her voice was raw with pain and her shoulders sagged under a weight only she knew she had.

He eyed Steve, "Why are you laughing? Your chick is leaving anyway. What are you gonna do about it Prince Charming?" He turned in time to watch Coal look defeated.

She looked at her friend for a second, "i just don't really... I don't know... want... this," her words were jumbled in her head, causing her speech to come out in an uneven, and quiet voice. "All we ever do anymore... we run... maybe we need to face the music Coal, maybe this is what's best...'

"I could say the same to you Scott. Your lady seems to be a loyal follower of her's," he watched them for a second, "and I'm laughing because I can't believe a gilr like her exists," he patted Scott on the back roughly, "and frankly, I can't stop her."

"Music!? Ella what music are you talking about? I've been deaf to it for a while I thought you were too." Its true, she had lost all thoughts about what they were doing and just let it happen. Running was all she knew, and she wasn't about to just change because her friend thought a guy was cute. Glaring at Scott and Steve she growled, "Go with them, I don't care." Turning on her heel she stalked off, letting her feet hit the pavement harshly.

He chuckled but flinched under Coal's glare. "Man if looks could kill we would be dead, then brought back to life then dead again. Like Dean and Sam..." He smiled, "Yes I watched supernatural, its not as girly as you think."

Coal was right, as hard as it was to admit, the music isn't clear when all you can hear is the sounds of animals having conversations among themselves, every waking hour filled with incoherent words and phrases, "Coal!" She yelled after her friend, "listen to someone else for once in your life!"

Steve ignored Scott's comment, "is Coal walking away from Ella?" He could see Coal had walked the other direction, and Ella staying put, though he could hear her saying something, "you might want to go comfort your lady friend."

She stopped, then turned so fast she didn't even know she had done it until it was to late. A small fire had started around Ella, as anger took over Coal again. "I don't need anyone else, Ella! You know why? They lie and they make you do things you don't want to do! I don't want to be your puppet or a storage for your unholy truths!" She snapped, her eyes blazing with tears and fire.

He blinked at Ella, fire had surrounded her, holding out his hands he slowly walked towards her. A fear that if he moved to quickly Coal would act out again, "Ella..." He whispered, "Don't know if you know this but there's fire around you..."

"Did I ask for you to be my puppet?" Ella kept her voice as calm as she could, feeling a small amount of heat radiate from the fire around her, "I just think that we should weigh our options," she swallowed a lump in her throat, "SHIELD will find us sooner or later, maybe we should just go. I know you don't want to hear this Coal, but you hurt people today, real people. It's not like the small burns you accidentally give me when I touch you too much, it's more, and that's what you need to think about."

Steve moved closer to the girls, moving slowly beside Scott, watching the small flames dance at Ella's feet, and hearing her talk to her friend, in the calmest, steadiest voice he had heard from her since they'd met.
