Shadowpatch dipped his head. "Of course, Twistedstar, it would be an honor." he mewed, standing up. "Although I can't think of anything I've done that merits particular attention- just my duty." His gaze was blankly curious, as he had no idea what this was about. He hope it wasn't about his loyalties, some new terrible duty, or his daughter, but each seemed as unlikely as the last- well, he had been putting on a loyal enough face, right? His heart beat slightly faster in his uncertainty.

Twistedstar smiled. It was very unsettling, but not menacing. "Great!" She mewed, flicking her tail at Ravenwing. "Thanks again." She then turned and headed out of camp with her deputy. "Let's go a little ways out before talking."

Shadowpatch nodded, following Twistedstar silently. Maybe he didn't like the current rule, but he hadn't done anything other than talk... yet. His stomach knotted as he remembered his hunt with Crystalheart that morning. His talk with Eagleheart, and then Ravenwing. His well-practiced blank face remained, though his heart was beating faster with nerves, and he felt like if anything surprised him he would be up a tree in the blink of an eye.

Ravenwing sat in her den, shuffling with some herbs. "Sweetpaw, I would like to do some more training if you'd come here please."

Flashfire sat and watched Oddeyes with curiosity. He looked down at his paws, thinking. There was a small stain of red that would not come off of his left white paw. The paw he had used to kill his father with. He remembered the moment well and smiled. Then he remembered Inktear and his smile faltered. Inktear and Flashfire had been best friends before he was killed. Inktear had also been his brother. Shadowpatch and Ravenwing were okay littermates but Dragonsong was by far his favorite sister. But his mind wandered to the fact that everyone had mates now and he didn't. But who could he become mates with that wasn't a traitor?

Tauntedpaw sat in the clearing, playing with his tail in boredom. He looked around for his brother Lichenpaw. It made him sad to be apart from his best friend. He and Lichenpaw did everything together. They trained together, they played together, they ate together, they did everything together.

Dewpaw sat by the apprentices den with a glum look on her face. Now that it was past sunhigh, there wasn't much time left in the day to do anything. She shrugged and padded off into the forest to hunt. Scenting the air, she immediately caught a whiff of squirrel.

Crystalheart sat by the fresh kill pile, looking for Eagleheart. She had meant to ask him about his alliance with her and Shadowpatch, but he seemed to have disappeared. Maybe for another day.

Cloudwing padded into camp with a vole and two mice in her jaws. Not bad for a hunt, she concluded and dropped her catch into the fresh kill pile. She moved over to a shaded area by the Warriors den and laid down on the cool ground, hoping to catch a few minutes of sleep. She had been given the night watch the night before then sent out hunting. Now, she was exhausted.

Ravenwing smiled at the kit. "I was wondering if you would like to learn about some more herbs," she offered.

Crystalheart approached Tempeststar with the best realistic smile she could muster. "Hello, Tempeststar. Your kits look very healthy," she commented, casting a sidelong glance at her own son Tauntedpaw, who was sitting in the clearing. He looks so much like his father, she thought sadly. Even the same personality. She returned her gaze to the leader and his kits. "They are very handsome."

Dragonsong shook herself off, the water spattering from her fur. The blue tabby she-cat's pelt was marred with pale scars. She picked up the fish she'd caught before going for a swim, and headed back to camp.

Lichenpaw yawned and shrugged through the dirtplace tunnel. He trotted over to his brother. "Hey."

Tempeststar purred, putting his unease to the side. "Thank you Crystalheart. They have their mother's fur," he meowed. Both of his sons were cream and brown, closer to Twistedstar's fur colour than Tempeststar's own blue fur. "They will grow into fine warriors."

Flashfire couldn't seem to find his sister anywhere in camp. Must be hunting, he thought and began to leave camp when he bumped into her, sending them both tumbling backwards. "Sorry, Dragonsong!" He yelped, then burst into laughter.

Tauntedpaw perked as his brother approached. "Hey." He yawned as well. "Busy day?" He asked, curious.

Crystalheart nodded. "I'm sure they will. They're your kits, after all," she meowed. If only they weren't. Then you couldn't teach them to be like you, she thought, but she didn't dare voice them.

Ravenwing chuckled. "Yes you will. I'm glad you're so excited to be a medicine cat. My bones aren't as young as they used to be," she sighed, remembering how her mother said those words to her when she was just an excited kit. She really missed the white medicine cat; she cursed herself for not spending time with her as mother and daughter instead of mentor and apprentice.
