Izumi was all for mysterious new places, and the seemingly empty shop was quite intriguing to her. However, she felt as if searching an empty café on her first day here probably wouldn't turn out too well. They could also just wait to see if someone would show up, but no good came from loitering! There was far too much adventure to be had.
"Well, let's not wait around," Izumi said to Taiga as she turned to walk out, holding the door open for her new friend, "I guess we have no other choice but to come back here for lunch some time, right? Let's find some other place to eat for now." She gave a kind smile, and gestured for Taiga to step outside first.

She looked around the cafe, then walked out the door. "Yeah, good idea" She smiled, and started walking again, this time a little deeper into town. "Maybe some place more popular will be good." She suggested. "Look for lots of people..."

She opened her eyes, letting light in. She must have fallen asleep, because she was drooling all over the counter. "Ugh, what time is it?" she muttered to herself, taking a look at the clock. "Good, I can leave soon. Can't wait" She took out her notebook, and started doodling.

"I hear empty threats..." The man said in a lofty voice, shoving the other away and standing. "But of course... Have it your way. I won't call this... fox... a mutt." He said dramatically, giving the other a flourishing bow. "You must be new around here." Joel said, pretty much sneering. "I am Joel Brooks. Scientist, professor and inventor not at your service," His tone was still regal and dramatic. He fixed his dirty glasses- there was hardly a spot on him where there wasn't soot, a splatter, or burns.

Now that Izumi had gotten a brief look around, she was invigorated, full of life and excitement from the new atmosphere. The thought of food with a friend also brightened her mood. The two girls were on the hunt for somewhere to eat, and Izumi had no doubt that they would find an amazing place as they made their way through town, weaving through the steady stream of people. Izumi was also sure that nothing could bring her down, until something did. She tripped on a piece of loose pavement, and went tumbling directly into an angry looking man in a lab coat, knocking him completely over with her. The way Izumi looked at the situation, it was really quite a wonder that she even got him to budge considering how tiny she was, especially compared to his lanky stature.
