Man, did I miss the pokemon TCG talk? I just sort of got back into it.
I recently picked up the ash-greninja card off ebay, because i'm neck deep in anime hype, and greninja is probably my favorite poke now.

A friend linked me this earlier.

For me the decision of what version I get usually does depend on the version exclusives, since in a lot of cases I... don't really care for the legendaries.
The exceptions were HeartGold and X, as I love Ho-Oh and Xerneas. But other than that, I tend to go with which version lets me have more of the 'mons I want, since I'm super trade lazy and want stuff on my team as soon as possible.

I really like Rowlet, but am also growing more fond of Litten with each day. So I might pick Litten as my starter.
My boyfriend lives in the US and therefore gets the game a week earlier than me; he's set on picking Rowlet and could probably breed me one by the time I get the game.
It does depend on the final evolutions, though. Litten is one of those 'mons that make me worry that I'll find their evos overdesigned.

I was curious so I did research and this is the most likely reason I found.

The likely reason for the delay would be because of the rating system (PEGI) flagging something in the game’s content, and thus Gamefreak and Nintendo have to make a specific version of the cart that conforms to any changes that the PEGI propose to have it fit under a certain rating.
This has happened with the Australian Bureau of Classification before in relation to Pokemon too, due to ‘elements of gambling’ in the Game Corners (in HGSS if I recall) which pushed that release back in Aus until a version that would fit under the specific rating Gamefreak and Nintendo wanted was given to the board and approved for sale.

It takes a long time to go through lots of coding, just to edit it out.
So I image its not so easy as you make it sound.
