Fernstar looked at the kit and smiled. "Sorrelkit, you have reached the age of 6 moons, and it is time for you to be apprenticed. From this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as Sorrelpaw. I'm quite happy to say that I will be your mentor and I do hope I pass all my knowledge on to you." She purred and jumped off the highledge to touch noses with the younger she cat.

Threeleg's eyes widened as Fernstar announced that she would be mentoring Sorrelpaw. "Wow! Fernstar hasn't mentored anybody since I was still a young 'paw! That was when she first became leader! She must care a lot for your friend." He mewed at Goldenpaw before chanting the kit's new name. "Sorrelpaw! Sorrelpaw!"

Juniperfrost smiled at Bramblewhisker. "I'm sorry I'm going to be busy, I just can't put Berrypaw's training on hold." She mewed before turning her head at Fernstar's words. "I was not expecting that!" She exclaimed as Fernstar jumped down to touch noses with Sorrelpaw. It had been a while since the leader had been a mentor, but Juniperfrost knew that the leader would put everything into the new apprentice's training. "Sorrelpaw!" She called. "Sorrelpaw!"

Sparrowpaw looked at Berrypaw. "Wow! Sorrelkit is dead lucky to be mentored by Fernstar!" He mewed, happiness for the fæ evident in his tone. "That's some achievement! I don't think Fernstar's mentored in my entire life! Or maybe when I was a tiny kit." He then began to chant Sorrelpaw's name, green-brown eyes glittering.

Aquilo smiled at the ginger tabby. "Don't be upset if they reject you, they are in a tough situation at the moment. If you want a better chance at being accepted, I would give them a few days. Oh, and don't just walk into their camp, wait until you are found by a cat. But the more obvious, the better." He advised, waving his tail in a friendly manner.

Bone closed his eyes, the last thing he saw being a flash of pity in the warrior's eyes and a low hiss being the last he heard. Then a single squeak escaped him before everything was quiet. He was in darkness for a short moment before a foggy, dark forest surrounded him and he knew exactly where he was, but felt at peace.

Sorrelpaw's eyes widen. I'm an apprentice! And Fernstar is my mentor! It took a moment for her to register that she was supposed to continue the ceremony. Sorrelpaw reached her nose upwars (it wasn't very far), touching it to her new mentor's. "Thank you, Fernstar." Her ears flatten at the cheering. She hadn't been cheered for like that since... since she was born, actually. An embarassed red tinge spreads over her muzzle, and she licks her chest fur.

"And I have to make sure next meeting is about Sparrowpaw becoming an warrior, he is getting quite old now for being an apprentice" he added realising all the responsebilities he had recieved in just a few minutes. Blueheart looked back up at the ceremony just as Fernstar announced she would mentor Sorrelpaw. "The suprises just keep comming" he meowed trying to force in a laugh "I think this was the best outcome for Sorrelpaw and everyone else" he added with a smile before he joined the other cats in chanting Sorrelpaws new name.

Fernstar raised her tail for silence and when she got it, she leaped back onto the highledge. "As the fox attack was just yesterday, we have a lot of damage to fix. Blueheart, could you lead a hunting patrol? While hunting could you also refresh the scent markers? We are running low on warriors currently. The cats who aren't going on the patrol I would like to help rebuild camp walls and dens. Lots of damage was caused. Threeleg and Goldenpaw may go out at any point today to recollect herbs, however I would like at least one warrior accompanying them just in case the rogue decides to attack." She mewed, looking across at the freshkill pile consisting only one sorrowful mouse. "The apprentices should make sure the elders get fed before sundown tonight. I would prefer if training for today was postponed until tomorrow so we can focus on hunting and rebuilding the camp." She mewed before flicking her tail. "That is all, meeting dismissed." Then she leaped down from the highledge to approach Blueheart. "Well done, I know you will do well." She purred before continuing. "I would like you to lead a hunting patrol, refresh markers and be alert at the same time though we are at a shortage of warriors. Take Sparrowpaw with you, but you can decide the rest." She then dipped her head to the new deputy before padding away to start rebuilding the camp.

Threeleg listened to Fernstar before looking down at Goldenpaw when she'd finished. "I'd like to set out straight away. We need to restock on every herb we can get while it's still light, so I would like to head off now." Then he looked over across at Foxstripe. "I'll go ask Foxstripe if she'll accompany us." He mewed before trotting across to the fæ. "Greetings Foxstripe, would you mind accompanying me and Goldenpaw to collect herbs?" He asked her, heart racing with every word.

Juniperfrost rose to her paws when Fernstar finished. "I'll go ask Sparrowpaw to bring you something extra plump back from the hunting patrol." She mewed, overhearing Fernstar's conversation with Blueheart. "I want to stay in camp so I can come to see you every now and then when I'm not working on the camp." She mewed, licking his cheek affectionately.

Sparrowpaw watched Fernstar approach his temporary mentor and say to take him on the patrol. His eyes glittered with excitement then he looked at Berrypaw. "If you don't get to go, I'll try and catch something for us to share later tonight." He promised her, licking her cheek and purring. Then he heard Blueheart say he would need to discuss a warrior ceremony with Fernstar soon, and stared at Berrypaw. "That means we'll be warriors soon! Since we're the same age!" He purred loudly, a smile spread across his muzzle.
