Otterpaw gave Snowpaw a confused look. "What... ooohhhh she must have thought I wanted her to go on ahead without me!" Otterpaw thought, laughing at himself for saying it like that."No not like tha-" Otterpaw was cut off, as he watched Snowpaw dash away after the squirrel. Otterpaw took a few steps towards the squirrel, before stoppering knowing he wouldn't be able to run fast enough without hurting his paw. "Go get him Snowpaw!" Otterpaw called out, not liking that he was unable to help.

snowpaw lunged at the small red creature, her white paws outstretched. she felt it's small furry body under her claws, but she lost grip on it's shaggy fur. it bounded into the bushes. mouse dung! the apprentice continued to peruse the prey, before it made a desperate leap for a tree that was too far away. it fell on the ground and snowpaw jumped on top of it, dispatching it quickly with a strong nip to it's spine. raising her tail proudly, she padded back to the tabby and grinned, the prey that was as large as her in her jaws.

Once the two warriors had came back with their apprentices and saw that Riverstream was nearly padding out the entrance, it was obvious that the tom was waiting for them as he looked back. He couldn't help but mentally smirk as he got up and started towards the entrance as well. He waited for Darkstorm and Cloudheart to go ahead with the apprentices' right behind their mentors, it was a rather large patrol though so Rainstar planned to leave the group once they get further into the patrol.

The fluffy grey and white she cat had woken to slight rustling noises, she peered around in the warrior's den to find the culprit and saw it was Adderfang. It seemed like he curled up to try and catch a few more minuets of sleep but he had woken the she cat. She got up and didn't bother with her fur just yet as she stalked closer to the young tom and pounced on him "Wake up!" she meowed before leaping off him and trotting towards the entrance, her tail flicking playfully before she looked back and chuckled at him before going through the entrance. The sun had hit her right in the face and her eyes squinted till they had adjusted to the brightness, forgetting that there might be an upset tom right behind her.

Otterpaw kept his eyes and ears open as he waited for Snowpaw to return. "Ugh... I hate waiting." Otterpaw thought sitting down and lashing his tail. When Otterpaw saw Snowpaw coming towards him, he quick;y got to his paws and looked at the squirrel wide eyed. "Oh wow! Way to go Snowpaw! I think that's the biggest squirrel I've ever seen! I'm sure no one on the hunting patrol will catch anything that big!" Otterpaw purred, smiling brightly at her.

Getting to his paws, he followed the others out of the camp and then took the lead; the patrol had grown unusually large, as normally only three to four cats were on patrol at any time and this one had six, but Darkstorm felt it necessary to add the apprentices; after all, as Bumblepaw had pointed out, he hadn't been on one in some time. The forest floor was cool and damp underpaw, as it normally was save for the very hottest days of greenleaf when the weather turned scorching hot.

The she-cat's paws made next to no sound on the forest floor as the patrol made its way towards the territory's easternmost edge of the border; it would likely start there and then work its way around, missing no part of the territory's edge. "Littlepaw," she murmured, "do you remember what I taught you about being on patrol?" What she'd taught him, of course, was that a cat should remain as quiet as possible until they'd scented that the immediate vicinity was clear; free of predators and rouge cats and other such intruders.

adderfang grunted when the shecat landed on top of him. "get off!" he meowed, half heartedly trying to push dewwhisker off, but she lept off him anyways. guess that's me up then. he mumbled in his head, before padding after her and stretching his forelegs. the young warrior's back arched and the fur along the darker red stripe that went along his spine prickled. "you seem to be in a good mood huh?"

snowpaw grinned and dropped the limp squirrel. "I bet you could do better, even with your injured paw." the shecat meowed, shrugging her shoulders. "it could have taken me out with no bother, it's nearly as big as I am!" the black-and-white apprentice giggled, circling her prey.

The cats where now making their way to the eastern border, mentally evaluating the apprentices to see how they were doing on their training. He expected Littlepaw to know more than Bumblepaw due to age and was happy to see that the young calico tom was doing well. Cloudheart was showing the right example by keeping quiet, Rainstar nodded in approval. Even the tom was quiet but held himself more, showing his 'high' status in the clan, keeping an eye on every cat. Maybe he had no need to worry like he did earlier this morning, Starclan was giving them peace and quiet.

The she cat shrugged "I could have slept a little longer if some cat didn't stir in his sleep." Dewwhisker teased. She then turned her gaze and looked around camp, most cats had left on patrols already and only a few remained behind "Looks like patrols had already been sent out." she told the tom. "What are we going to do today?" she then sat down and started to groom her fur, bits of moss had been lodged in her fur from her nest as she gently tugged them out followed by a few licks to flatten out her fur.

Toadnose

Toadnose found a spot to lay down in camp, not knowing what else he could do. He looked a up and watched as Dewwhisker and Adderfang come out of the warriors den. Toadnose smiled at then before flicking his tail in greetings at them. Toadnose looked at the Warriors den a bit longer to see if Dustfur was going to come out as well, when she didn't Toadnose let out a sigh.

Otterpaw smiled at Snowpaw, before turning his gaze somewhere else. "Well, hey maybe I can, but maybe I can't. Either way, you did good." Otterpaw purred, not sure if he could have gotten the squirrel. "I don't think that squirrel would have won a fight with you! You're clearly a great hunter! As much as I hate to say this, you might even be a better hunter then me, but you know... only by a little bit."

adderfang shrugged, "dunno, but I'd really love a day every moon when we just loaf about and do nothing." the young warrior admitted, suppressing a large yawn. the ginger tom nodded at toadnose, exchanging a friendly greeting, before glancing around camp. "but I'm sure there's something to do."

snowpaw flicked her tail, "just a little bit." she repeated, her whiskers quivering. "we should go back the the camp if your paw is causing you trouble, y'know." the apprentice fretted, glancing at the young tom's paw.

Dewwhisker couldn't help but laugh softly "I bet that day would be today." she smiled at him "I don't think I can just sit around though, I would get to bored." she admitted. "Makes me wish I had an apprentice already." She recalled when she had asked Rainstar about it and being told she was still considered a new warrior. Its better for apprentices to be trained by older warriors I guess, she though before sighing. It was then that Toadnose came by them and she smiled at the older tom "Morning Toadnose!" she meowed kindly "Waiting for Dustfur again?"

Sageclaw was sitting in camp relaxing, he had stayed up last night keeping guard. It was nice that Cloudheart was with him, he usually sat alone. The tom still was not tired yet and was not hungry, so he just laid there as he looked around camp. The patrols had made their way out already and it was somewhat peaceful in camp. He noticed that Whitekit had padded around to get fresh kill and tilted his head "Wonder when he will be apprenticed.." he trailed off quietly.
