Menma smiled faintly as the girl took off her headphones. It felt good to help someone, even though they weren't exactly in any particular danger. As he was about to bit his farewells, the girl did something pretty surprising and pulled out a puppy from her bag, a border collie to be exact, and handed it over to him.
"U-Uh, excuse me?" Menma blinked as he looked down at the rather adorable puppy. After hearing the girl's story, Menma tilted his head. "So you want me to t-take it?" He questioned, not sure if his mom would even let him keep the pup. Even the collie wanted to go back to the girl, judging by it's faint whining. Menma could only stare at the girl, waiting for a response.

"Yep. I got loads..." she said, as she held the puppy in one hand, and opened her bag again. It was fully of puppies. Literally. Maya was like a puppy machine or something... "you can have two more if you'd like." She said sarcastically. The puppy seemed to like the boy, so... "well? Take it." She said, and she held out the puppy for him to take it.

Menma's eyes widened in surprise as he stared at the bag of puppies.
"..." The boy was little left speechless as his eye twitched. "A-Ah, no thank you. My mom might have a heart attack if i bring more than one animal home..." He said slowly as he reached out and took the puppy from the girl's hands. He could at least take one to be polite, not to mention, the pup was cute. Sharing a small smile with the pup, Menma brought his attention back to the girl. "Are you just going to keep the rest of them in your bag, Miss?" He then questioned, realizing that he didn't even known her name.

Eric closed the door behind them, and then changed his clothes. He wore a black suit, with a red tie. He looked quite rather fancy.... Eric then brushed his hair, and soon was ready to go to the ball. Alone. How nice....

Menma nodded understandingly. That made sense....but wait, she thought he was trustworthy? Someone she just met? He didn't say anything about it, since he knew that he was trustworthy to take care of a pup.
"O-Oh! Sorry about that Mi-- M-Maya." He said, trying out the name. He really liked it. "My name is Menma...It's nice to meet you Maya!" He said with a small smile as he shifted the puppy into one arm and held out a hand to shake.

I blinked my eyes and realised she wasn't there. I walked carefully home, already choosing the jewel Ray and makeup. I sighed and waked downstairs to the basement which was my temporary bedroom. I quickly placed the dress in the small closet for safe keeping and sat down at my dressing table. I pulled out a box from a drawer carefully and set it delicately on the dressing table. I opened the lid and smiled at the present from my older brother Vylad. I beautiful masquerade mask, of delicate black lace. I moved the box aside and took out a tube of dark red lipstick. I gently applied it to my lips and smiled as I looked at myself in the mirror. I carefully added some mascara and some eyeliner, my brown eyes popping from the black. I let my hair loose and slightly curled it, adding a simple black headband to keep hair out if my face. I changed into the dress and added my mask. Even if the ball wasn't a masquerade ball, it still made me even prettier. I felt the band run around my head, keeping the mask still. To finish the look I walked out with a pair of black ankle boots on my feet. I walked out, heading to the house where Eric was before we left for the horse herd. I stopped as I heard voices and walked away. I sighed and whistled for Miles.
