Fernstar looked at her deputy and sat down, looking for words. "Well, I wouldn't say wrong, but I thought I would talk with you about it until I decide. I've spoken to Threeleg about it but I thought it only fair if I spoke to you." She whispered, wrapping her grey tabby tail around her mitts. "Threeleg said it would take at least a moon for your wounds to heal, and I need your opinion on whether I should wait that long, or appoint a temporary deputy until you heal." Her green eyes looked pained, as if she'd never wanted to say those words.

Threeleg hopped into the clearing with a sigh of relief. The scents of home were always the best ones. He looked at Fernstar as she spoke before turning to look at Goldenpaw. "Come on, we better get some rest. I want you up early tomorrow so we can get a head start in restocking the herbs. The foxes trashed everything." He mewed to the apprentice before leading him to the den. Once curled up in his nest, he mumbled. "If I'm not awake by dawn, wake me." He then yawned before drifting off into sleep.

Juniperfrost was about to respond to the deputy when Fernstar entered the den, requesting to speak with Bramblewhisker. She understood it was probably a private matter, and so dipped her head. "Yes, Fernstar." She mewed before looking at Bramblewhisker and nuzzling him gently. "I'll go and get some rest. Try and sleep tonight." She meowed quietly before turning and bounding out of the den and across to the warriors' den. The small warrior slipped inside and curled into her nest, closing her eyes as the pale moonlight filtered into the den and chilled her fur.

Ｓｐａｒｒｏｗｐａｗ
Sparrowpaw crouched low behind a broken bush, watching the camp. When he felt nobody was watching he snuck out from behind the bush, almost bumping into Berrypaw on his way to the apprentices' den. "Hi Berrypaw! I didn't take too long because I didn't want you to be lonely." He mewed, smiling and waving his tail in happiness. "Are you going hunting? I can come with you if you are." He offered.

Aquilo smiled at the ginger tabby. "Don't be upset if they reject you, they are in a tough situation at the moment. If you want a better chance at being accepted, I would give them a few days. Oh, and don't just walk into their camp, wait until you are found by a cat. But the more obvious, the better." He advised, waving his tail in a friendly manner.

Bone closed his eyes, the last thing he saw being a flash of pity in the warrior's eyes and a low hiss being the last he heard. Then a single squeak escaped him before everything was quiet. He was in darkness for a short moment before a foggy, dark forest surrounded him and he knew exactly where he was, but felt at peace.

All he wanted to do was curl up and sleep, escape everything, but he knew deep down he had to spend time with Berrypaw now. It felt like the two she cats were playing tug-of-war with his heart.
