I realize that I haven't posted here in a long while, but I wanted to share my latest hoard achievement!



I've just traded for these three beauties! It took some hefty overpay, but in the end I think both my trade partner and I were content with the trade. I'm now up to seven of these lovelies, and my goal is 10 (I plan on pairing them with the black and white "BMD" versions.)

In addition to these, I've also made slow but steady progress on my Black Advent hoard. I've decided to try and get two from each year (up until I reach 20 of them.) However, due to the increasing difficulty of finding and trading for them, I'm debating lowering my goal to 10 and finding another pet to pair them with, like I'm doing with the BMD.

In other news, I have a question for you all:

Do you always actively trade for hoard pets, or do you find yourself taking breaks?

I only ask because during the school year, I get so busy that I tend to give up/trade away hoard pets altogether, whereas during the summer I'm almost always on the hunt for hoards. Just curious to see if anyone else has run into the same problem. Forgive me if this has been asked/answered before!

depends on the hoard,
I always trade for butterfly wolves, it's an infinite never ending hoard and I couldn't see myself going a day without making some kind of addition to the hoard.
However my, one, list hoard, I've been on a break simply because I don't have any tier 7 advents that would be fair for it. The ones I have are all just in higher demand than the blue flower. Cookie dogs, border collies..you know :I And no one trades them off the list so there goes that idea. I did use to swap on tier 7 for them regardless of demand but now I'm all out of heart/huskies and I lost two cookie dogs already so.. I don't think I can afford to lose any more ;-;

Managed to get two of this little guy in my litter, I'm officially in love *-*

This so far is my favorite outcome of the new Westerns. I hope the adults are as adorable!
Trying to gather as many of these eggs and hatchlings as I can in case I decide to hoard em.

I always actively trade for my hoard pets. I don't usually take a break unless, for example, I'm simply not online due to school or work or family things. I have such large hoard goals for some pets that if I just took a break I'd never get any closer. And for that matter, for me at least, hoarding is kind of what keeps me on ChickenSmoothie. I quit once before and came back permanently only because I started my Deduction and other Sherlock-related hoards and fell in love. I find it fun to go and try to snag a few more hoard pets every day to chip away at my goals.

I've done something similar I guess. lol I've had so many Black Advents come through here over the years I've lost count. I'd collect a bunch and have them all together, then get bored and trade them all off one by one. Except for this guy...

I could never trade him off because he came from my daughter, Snowpea2000.
Anyway, I've always been obsessed with the number 3. So I had him and I always kept two other Black Advents with him. Then I had to make it him in the middle and another Black Advent on either side. Always 3 in the group.

Then while back I traded his two buddies off and put them on him in plushie form. And got a blue Rose and a Green Nosed Neon dog to sit with him instead. He's the star of the group and the two BA Plushies and the other two dogs are his entourage I guess. XD

Black Advents are increasingly harder and harder to get over the years and I've been turned off to them simply because of the greed and lack of dress up options for me. I prefer lighter, more neutral dogs for dressing up like Pink/Brown Cookies, Cream Advents, Angel Advents, etc. I do like the idea of collecting two from each year though. ^_^

I didn't think it was possible but I now own 2 PPS August lions ^^ Now that is 36 PPS lions in my hoard! My goal is 100, hopefully I can get there!

Aww, he's adorable! I understand what you mean by their demand increasing over the years. Surprisingly, I got my first Black Advent for free as a gift from a very kind user back in 2010. Now, I have to toss toxics at users just to get their attention, let alone work out a successful trade. It's a little hard trying to hoard them so late in the game, but it's something I've always wanted to do, so it's kind of like a dream hoard I guess.

That makes complete sense! There have been a few times in which I've almost lost all interest in CS, and hoarding (even back when I only had like 3 hoards) was what kept me going. Still, sometimes if I know that I don't have a whole lot of time to be online, the whole thought of trying to achieve hoard goals just gets too overwhelming for me. Now, I've set a 20-limit hoard goal for each one, and am only casually picking them up rather than actively trading for them. It's a new feeling, but it's working so far. Granted, I've only been doing it for the past few days

I couldn't help myself, I started a new hoard... It's called My Favorite Color and it's theme hoard of pets that are mostly gray.

I actually just did this with my Vintage Treasures hoard, it's this months guinea pigs. I don't have enough fodder to support that many unlimited hoards so I reduced it from unlimited to 100 so I could start my new unlimited hoard ^-^
