It is unknown where Thyme and Sage were born. One day their father, on the edge of death, appeared near the tribe carrying two kits that were in no way old enough to be away from their mother. All the clan was told that his name was Shadow, the kits names were Haris and Koda, and their mother had died in the same fight that had left him so close to death. The two kits were taken in, given to a surrogate mother and renamed 'Sage that Burns when Fire Rages' and 'Thyme that Stays when Others Fade' at the prompting of Shadow, and then Shadow vanished once more.
The meaning of their names are unknown to everyone except their father, who is likely dead.
