Aegis (joining closed!)

sHe leaned her head on his shoulder. Her arms and whings were disturbing the beautiful closeness, but she couldn't put them away.

"Why don't you put your wings away?", he asked and then saw how Rachel was protecting her arms with her wings. >>What did you do?<< he softly pushed her wing away, even if that hurt like hell because they were burning, and looked at her arm. It was full of blisters.

[DaydreamNarrator]

"Don't worry about the blisters, I'm used to them." She said, still hiding her left hand. she sighed.
"sooner or later you'll see it anyway..." she showed him her left hand.
A bloodstained tissue covered it.
She carefully took it off. Her whole little finger was missing. a perfect cut along the side of her hand. it looked like she never had that finger.
"I'm okay.", she said quickly, avoidingt to look into his eyes.

He held his breath. >>Poor Rachel<< He took her hand and looked at it for a second, then softly kissed her. "You should really stop heating yourself."

[DaydreamNarrator]

"easier said than done", Rachel mumbled and cuddled against him. "That finger...when i woke up i realized that it was completely burned away. must have happened when i grabed that gun while i was burning. I had to take it off...otherwise the flesh could have spread and the infection could've killed me...i hope you don't mind having a girlfriend who can only show her future kids to count to nine with their fingers."

Jim kissed her again. "Already making future plans?" he winked. "Why should I mind that you only have nine fingers? You don't mind me having scars, on my arms, my face...so why should I?"

[DaydreamNarrator]

"the only future i can imagine is a future with you.", Rachel replied.
She giggled.
"kinda funny how you look like a danherous guy from the outside, but actually are so different from what you look like...and still so exactly what you look like...do you know ehat i mean?"

He frowned. "No, I don't really understand." Jim pulled her closer to him. "Explain."

[DaydreamNarrator]

"well, you look like that sort of guy i used to punch in the face when i had to protect my brother. You know...leather, earring, tattoos; badboy look.
But still you're so caring and loving and great with kids... and at the same time i couldn't imagine you looking different in any other way. Maybe because it looks great on you."

He blushed. "Cute.", he said and winked. "You also look different from what I expected you to be."
