Bella jumped down from her fence-something she didn't do very often. "Why did you run away? Don't your housefolk treat you well?" She asked with a tone of worry in her voice, ignoring his question.

Noticing Briarstar was busy, Splashpaw started padding around camp, looking for something to do. Having a leader as a mentor is the highest honor an apprentice could get, but she is always so busy. It is so hard to get an entire day of training. Having nothing better to do, Splashpaw followed the scent of Briarstar to the leader's den where he saw a small kit who looked blind.

"Housefolk? I used to live with my mama, but she was mean and she didn't feed me very much," B explained. He stared at the she-cat, then looked at himself. He was bony, his ribs just ready to poke out. "Do you get food?"

"Yes, my housefolk feed me." She told the kit. "Are you a forest cat?" She had heard about forest cats before, but she had never seen one.

"He didn't tell me anything," Littleleaf insisted. "What do you think he said?"

Cedar shrugged. "I live here," she meowed.

The orange kit batted the mossball back and forth. "I'm O. My brother is B. What's your name?" She hadn't caught their names.

B walked slowly until he got out of earshot of his mother and the other cats. He started running- he was running away. He didn't want to be with Cedar anymore. He was never played with. He hated his name.

"I'm Leopard. Why would your mother name you letters?" Leopard glanced at Cedar, feeling a little uneasy.

"Oh, well, I live in that bush over by that tree." Tree pointed to a faraway tree. It was tall and offered plenty of shelter.

"Because she's mean," O mewed, staring up at Leopard. "Hush!" Cedar hissed, her tail lashing.
