"Four moons?" Littlekit groaned. Wait- was that a long time? "Daddy, is that long?"

"You can leave, I'll be fine on my own." Dappleheart assured her. She was starting to feel sleepy, and Silverpaw said it was best for her to rest.

"Well by that time it'll be... leaf-fall, I think." Bramblefoot estimated, hoping seasons would be a better time measurement for the kit.

Breezefur nodded. "I'll see you later," she meowed quietly before exiting.

Littlekit blinked. "What's it like in leaf-fall?" he asked. He had been born in new-leaf.

"Well, the leaves on the tree's turn red, and they all fall to the ground before leaf-bare comes." Bramblefoot explained. Clan customs, he was stumped on. Now seasons were a different story, nice and easy and not culturally offensive.

"Why do the leaves go?" Littlekit was worried. "If the leaves fall off, do.. do the cats die, too??"

"No, when the leaves fall down they go to the ground, and then when new-leaf comes they all grow back." Bramblefoot meowed, even the names of the seasons were pretty self explanatory. To be honest he found the kit's innocence amusing.

Littlekit gave a little sigh of relief. "Okay, good." He didn't want to die so soon.

"Anyways, what do you wanna do?" Bramblefoot asked Littlekit. So far things looked okay for him parenting.

Angel heart trotted through the forest to hunt, when she scented a cat. She followed it to Death and Tinykit, and whispered; "What're you doing out here with that kit?"

"Can we hunt.. real things?" Littlekit asked excitedly. He had completely forgotten that Bramblefoot said he couldn't become an apprentice for four moons.
