"Maybe." Ella handed him a wet rag to put on his fingers. She added a few spices to the chicken and put it in a corner. "What else should we have?" She asked.

"Rum?" suggested Milo. "Oh, wait," he amended. "It's a birthday party, isn't it?"

"Yes, but the more rum the better." Ella said, pulling out four bottles. She started to recreate the snack plate.

Milo shrugged, then opened the door and took a step back when he saw Patric about to knock. The taller boy bowed, then asked, "You wouldn't happen to have any cold meat, would you? I've got half a black eye already."

Ella walked to the freezer. She pulled out a steak and too it to him. She help it up to his eye. "Come on." She said, pushing him out and tugging him to the crew's quarters.

"Thanks," chuckled Patric, holding the steak onto his eyes. "That boyfriend of yours sure puts up a good fight," said Patric as Ella steered him away from the galley. "I just have one question: why would a deckhand fight so hard for you? You're the second in command, right? Aren't you way out of his league?"

"He's also secon in command. He just felt like helping out." Ella said. "And he isnt my boyfriend, yet." She said. "Not officially any way." She added, blushing.

Patric raised an eyebrow at her, silently acknowledging her bluff. "I think I can find my way to the crew's quarters from here," he said, almost lazily, stepping through the door and shutting it gently.

Ella laughed and went back to the kitchen. "Wanna get out of here?" She asked, tired of the heat.

"Sure," laughed Milo, stepping out onto the deck. "It's too hot in there."
