She could feel herself shrinking under his confidence, trying to convince herself that a whole clan was strong enough. Still, she knew she'd have nightmares about that cat sneaking into the apprentice den causing trouble in their sleep. "Ok... It's just one cat right?" In more of a 'how bad could it be' tone rather than an actual question. "Once I'm stronger, I'll learn to fight like Crowstar and win..."

Looking at his fish, he knew it wouldn't be enough to feed two hungry warriors. "Why don't you grab something so we can eat, I think we've earned our share." He meows happily, deciding they could relax and share tongues on more positive news. The gathering would be happening soon enough, that'd be a bright subject to talk about.

She nodded and trotted over to the fresh-kill pile, taking a squirrel and padding back to Piketail. Her own stomach was churning from the inviting scent of the fresh-kill and she was glad for the plenty prey they had at the moment.

He smiled, his expression showing amusement. "Once youre a warrior, youre going to fight better than Crowstar." He told her in a hushed tone, pretending to be telling her a great secret, hoping to get her mood up a bit.

Cinder wakes up abruptly, her stomach growling with hunger. She gets to her paws, yawning. She arches her back in a stretch before heading towards the fresh kill pile. Cinder looks at the pile, thinking what she should take. Settling on a mouse, she picks it up, pads towards a quiet place, and begins to tear into the mouse.

She manages a faint smile at the thought of maybe becoming deputy one day if she fought braver than a leader. She wondered if the other clans would be impressed, but it might be funny to have a Cloverstar of Venomclan when there was already a Cloverclan. "Do all rogues look like me?" She asks, noticing Cinder was also a calico but had thinner fur than she did.

His eyes gaze longingly at the sky for a moment, wishing the strength of his father could be more than just another Starclan gift. "You know, I hear Willowclan has really gained some numbers, I bet Cinderstar is really proud of her clan." He begins, taking a bite of his fish with high hopes someone he knew would be at the gathering this full moon.

Leopardpaw nodded, biting into her squirrel. After she swallowed the piece of meat, she replied, "She certainly has something to be proud of. I wonder if there will be announcing of any new warriors." She glanced over at the warrior's den with longing, but then turned away, knowing she would just have to wait her turn to become warrior.

He looked at Cinder and had to admit that she did look a bit like his apprentice, but when he turned to Cloverpaw, he shook his head. "No, that's just a coincidence, rogues have many different pelt colors, just like us here in the clan." He said, nodding towards the many varying colors of fur on the cats around them, from Sunsplash's golden through Lichenstorm's dusty brown to Flamepaw's fiery ginger.

Cloudchaser looked at Firefur. "Wanna go out hunting quick? We'll need to go get some food for us and the clan with the gathering coming up." Cloudchaser returned to her happy nature and smiled at Firefur, but she could feel uneasyness prick at her pelt with Cinder here.

She couldn't fight off a nagging feeling that there was more to what he said than it just being bad luck. "But what if she was related to my mom or something... Calico's almost always have calico kittens." Her mother had died kitting, but she'd heard before how she'd had three siblings and only one of them looked like her father with light grey tabby fur. While she had some stripes to her white and orange pelt, her longer fur did look different from Cinder's shorter pelt. "Maybe I'm just panicking over nothing..."

Thinking on it for only a moment, the tom shrugs as if dismissing the idea of new warriors. "Flamepaw is the first in line I think, but with Bluewhisker training him I doubt it'll be much longer. That tom has always been really uptight about clan law and being the best cat you can be." Feeling both jealous and bad for the younger tom, but he'd make a strong cat for sure. His mentor passed away about a moon ago, but a strict mentor didn't kill him either.
