The tom purred as he watched his daughter from afar. Getting to his paws, Wildstorm went outside the Camp to go hunt. The fresh-kill pile looked a little bit low. I hope Littlepaw does well. He thought.

Her attention was once again caught by her new mentor. Hearing his words, Littlepaw nodding gently. She knew she was good at Running and Climbing; her fighting and fishing skills definitely needed work; and hunting was fine. The small calico waited for his response.

 The tom smiled, aware that he was probably being to enthusiastic for the young tom. "This is my mate, Soaringbird and my two kits Flamingkit and Cricketkit." He mewed gently.

"Out of the camp we go then." He said, rising to his paws. A brief stretch later and he was leading her out of camp. As soon as they had left the camp behind however, he motioned with his tail for her to take the lead. "We'll start with hunting."

The apprentice's attention turned from his mentor to the queen and her kits. He dipped his head in greeting to the three, at least partially recognizing them from around camp. He needed to work on recognizing and knowing the names of all the cats in camp, admittedly. He only really knew the apprentices, a fraction of the warriors, and then the leader and medicine cat by heart.

 The tom's paws shuffled nervously, he wasn't sure what to say next, he then remembered what he was willing to ask Birchpaw. "Perhaps we should walk by the edge of the hunting grounds, away from all the hustle in the clan." He said looking out into the distance. "We can discuss your training, also."

The she-cat nodded, and tasted the air for prey. She couldn't anything, but then a small whiff of a mouse indicated that it was nearby. Lowering herself into a crouch - she didn't really need it - Littlepaw stalked forwards, keeping her tail of the ground, and the only noise coming from her was her low breathing. The small Apprentice soon spotted the creature, and paused. Then, she leaped and landed on the mouse. It squeaked and wriggled in her claws, until Littlepaw bent down and nipped its neck.

Greywing purred to her apprentice, smiling. She's an excitable one, I wonder if she'll pay very much... Her thoughts trailed off as Puddlestar named the new deputy and dismissed the clan. Me? Her eyes flickered to her apprentice and she smiled wide, pawing the ground. "Thank you, Pinepaw," She murmured, before flicking her tail. She looked to the sky before nodding. "Would you like to go through the territory today? We wont have time for much else," Her heart was still thumping in her chest, her fur prickling in triumph and happiness.

Puddlestar curls up in his nest, his tail tip flicking over his nose. The cold wind was harsh, and his short fur wasn't the best protection against it. At least my den is warm. he thinks before drifting off into sleep. A moment later his eyes snap open. Sunlight filters into the den, and a warm breeze brings scents of prey. Starclan? What news could they possibly have? Something in the bushes catches his eye. A bush, with thorns like claws. Something was caught in the branches. A feather? No. Flecked dark and light grey fur, like stone. Graniteslip? Realization hits him like a rockslide. [/i]Graniteslip is in Starclan.[/i] He sways on his paws before everything goes dark. Puddlestar blinks open his eyes for a second time, however now in his den. He turns in his nest, attempting to find a more comfortable position. What that just a dream... or was Graniteslip trying to tell me something?

Eveningleaf peers at the approaching clouds. The snow will start falling soon. She turns, checking the stores. Almost out of dandelion leaves, I might as well go look for a few. Maybe some marigold too. Anything would help. the torbie healer thinks as she pads out of camp again, mewing a small congratulations to each of the apprentices she sees.

Pinepaw bounds out of camp, a spring in her step. "Come on, Greywing, Let's go!" the spritely apprentice yowls before disappearing from sight. She needs no more bidding to explore the territory. I hope I get to see it all before the snow comes!

Greywing chuckled, dashing after the apprentice. "Pinepaw!" She chided, jumping in front of the young she-cat. "You are to follow me or walk beside me, not in front of me. I realize you are excited, but you must listen," She purred, flicking her ear. "While we're exploring, tell me what you can do, and how good you are at it. Can you find and follow a scent trail? Can you walk silently?" Amusement twinkled in her eyes, but so did a slight worry. If her running out like this is a habit, we may have a problem. She might be working for the elders next time.

Pinepaw pads next to her mentor, her head turning at every new bush, every new tree. She may have had her apprentice name for 3 moons, but she rarely was allowed onto the territory until now. A squirrel chitters above her head, and she dashes to the base of the tree. The brown tabby tuxedo tilts her head up at the squirrel, then pads a few trees away from it, stopping at a sturdy aspen. The squirrel watches, it's small black eyes glittering before it turns away, assuming the apprentice is no threat. Pinepaw bunches her haunches, then begins climbing up the tree, her cream claws digging into the bark.

For some reason, Greywing thought fondly of Pinepaws clumsiness. At least she heard me. "Very good. Lets start, and you can tell me what you smell as we go along," She shook her head as a snowflake landed on her muzzle, swiping her tongue around her nose. We'd better hurry, if we want to get through the entire territory. We may not make it, with how small she is. My steps are bigger than hers, she'll get tired faster than I will.
