About her: Cygnus is a nature lover and passionate bird enthusiast. She keeps an aviary in her backyard with a variety of finches, doves, and quails. Indoors, she keeps an African Grey parrot. The little Vaiki runs a bird rescue with her eccentric friend Valence, an Ornithologist. They work to rehabilitate abused pets and injured wild birds before adopting them out or releasing them if possible. Some birds can't be released or adopted out, so they're kept at the sanctuary. Cygnus's personal favorite of all of the personal residents is a trumpeter swan whose wing needed to be amputated. She will go down every day after caring for the others to watch and feed the swan, who is kept in a pen around her large pond along with some ducks and geese. She loves how graceful her birds are, mimicking their movements in an attempt to become more like them. Cygnus has an interesting ability to mimic bird calls, which can sometimes cause chaos among the residents of the sanctuary. When the grey, blue, and white Vaiki isn't taking care of the sanctuary, she is out hiking and photographing the wild birds in the mountains and fields around her home. She will occasionally take commissions from magazines and websites for photographs of certain birds or other animals. Cygnus loves nothing more than the feeling of being outside among the things she loves most, since the experience lets her feel amazingly free. Her oft professional exterior masks an almost childlike interior which is only shown when she's running about outside.
During their friendship, Valence infected Cygnus with a wish to fly. Not like an aviator. Like a bird. Cygnus wishes she had to join her feathery buddies in the sky. Unlike Valence, she is not obsessed with the concept and will happily accept her limits and stay on the ground. She's quite sensible and does her best to keep her friend from hurting himself with crazy wing contraptions. She's not a big fan of most children, since they like chasing and scaring her beloved birds. Because of this, any nosy children who try to get into her yard are usually greeted by angry yelling, especially if they get close to the birds. When not driving nosy children off, Cygnus will hold small tours of her sanctuary for adults who want to learn more about birds. She also holds bi-weekly falconry classes.
