Bethany Elliott
Nickname:
Beth, Bethie
Age:
17
Gender:
Female
Brief Description:
er.. to be filled in when I find an image. c|
History:
Beth lived - and still lives - a charmed life in the bustling city of London. Her father is an important man, making enough money for the entire family to allow them to live extremely comfortable, if not plush, lives. She has always been able to get everything she's ever wanted and more, with just one look at her father. It would be nice to say that Beth was humble and did not take advantage of this priviledge, but that would be a lie. That is not to say that she was a completely vain and concieted girl, for she was aware of the poverty and famine around her much more than her family was. And at times she would attempt to help, but her father acted as a brick wall, blocking her from doing anything and not to be knocked down. Even though the firey passion to help had simmered down, it still remained. But it remained ignored.
For her 9th birthday, Bethany asked for only one thing: a horse. The day of her birthday, she was led outside blindfolded, and when the scarf was untied from around her head she found herself gazing at the most majestic, beautiful chestnut Thoroughbred mare she had ever laid eyes on. For years Bethany practically slept in the stables, and only allowed herself to be carried to bed when she was at least half asleep already. Riding became her passion, and her escape. The duties of coming from a family with money seemed far more burdonsome for her than her two sisters, as she would much rather be on the back of her horse, cantering through orchards or strolling through open fields.
This passion nearly killed her one day, when she was only 15 years of age. Like many nights, Beth was still in the stable long after everyone else had fallen asleep, stroking the velvety gray of her horse's muzzle and feeding her bits of apple and carrot. After a while, once she had learned that no one would be coming to retrieve her, Bethany entered her horse's stall and sat against the wall. Sometime during the night, a stranger - whose identity still remains unknown - lit it on fire. Bethany, who had been fast asleep when the flames began to swallow up the barn, was still inside as the fire grew nearer to the stall. She was still inside when the roof began to cave and the walls crumble. Still inside when her horse spooked from a falling beam afire and struck her head, causing her to lose consciousness.
She survived the deadly fire, which claimed numerous horses' lives (including her horse's), but still has the burns to prove what happened. The scars cover her right shoulder blade, and run halfway down her back. Ever since that dreadful summer night, Beth has worn clothes that cover every inch of the burns, making sure that no one can see the permanent marks from the blaze.
Personality:
After the fire, Bethany changed in such a way that could not be reversed by just anyone. She used to laugh and loved to play with whoever would play with her, and was rarely found without a smile on her face. Now, she is rarely found with a smile. There is no reason for her to smile anymore, because now the world seems like such a dark and dangerous place to be. The young innocence that once made her so sweet and kind is mostly gone, leaving a girl who has not known the hardships of being poor and living without, but knows the hardships of extreme pain and living as a target for all who dislike her father. The fire made her hard and unstrusting, and she never really lets in new people. She stopped going to the stable to see the horses, and stopped going out to parties and dancing. She used to love to dance and listen to music, but now it all seems dull and flat. It carries no meaning anymore. Beth is tougher now, and not much can bother her. At least, not that she lets people see. She takes everything in, much like a sponge would, and carries it around with her for a long time after. Every comment, every hurtful remark, does affect her. But she does not let it show. But she is scared, and is always aware of every little thing going on around her.
Strengths-
High pain tolerance
Very observant
Will not let emotions get in the way

{I know it's not finished yet, but we're not accepting anymore girls. Geeze, I feel so awful for saying that because I really like your charactor, Venture.
I was thinking, Holli, if we get enough male charactors, could we raise the female limit slightly? It is kinda my fault for not posting once I sent out the pms about the female spots. Because we'll have seven males once I finish my forms, but as of now we have eight(nine including Venture) But in order to raise the limit, I was thinking we need more guys correct? }

Yeah... Only seven girls at the most though... If we can get seven and seven I'd be happy. |3

Shadows all around you as you surface from the dark
Emerging from the gentle grip of night's unfolding arms
Darkness, darkness everywhere, do you feel all alone?
The subtle grace of gravity, the heavy weight of stone

-----------------
you are the moon

You don't see what you possess, a beauty calm and clear
It floods the sky and blurs the darkness like a chandelier
All the light that you possess is skewed by lakes and seas
The shattered surface, so imperfect, is all that you believe

Name:
Sholto Samuel Kenning
Nickname:
Sam
Age:
18
Gender:
Male
Brief Description:
Sam is a shaggy boy with a well toned body. One has to be though, to be a pirate (or so you'd think). Sam's eyes are a piercing green that are sometimes hidden under his shaggy light brown hair. His features are well defined on his face, rather sharp and rugged looking. But one shouldn't expect more from a teenage boy that had to grow up before he could talk. Aside from his facial features, the skin on Sam's palms is rough and callused from all his work, though not taxing. Just tedious.
History:
Sam grew up with the worst of it all; abusive, poor parents. To them, Sholto was the dirt in the house, to be swept away like, well, dirt. Sam's mother would drink nearly every moment of her life and when she did, she tended to scream and yell, calling Sam by his birth name. Sam learned to hate that name because it signaled an on coming storm of beating.
While his mother was a drunk, his father just didn't care. He'd would sit on the couch, smoking, and hear his son screaming out for help and in pain and simply shrug it off. Growing up with several dogs, Sam learned to live with them rather then inside. Inside he got treated like dirt and beat to near death. Outside he felt welcome and warmth.
But, like any other abusive child, Sam ran away at the age of seventeen. Sam had always seen the ships that past by, for his house was rather close to the shore line, and dreamed of one day sailing. So he ran to the best place he could think of, the docks. There Sam saw things he'd never dreamed of; men as drunk as hogs, women dressed in nearly nothing, and pirates.
So, for the year before Sam found his ship, he learned to drink like the rest and be a real man. He found himself with alcohol in his hand almost 24/7 and a woman at his side nearly as long.
Personality:
Sam is quick to speak and quick to tell the truth. He doesn't really care about feelings, so long as they aren't his and he rarely helps anyone out in a fight or tough situation. He'd rather place bets on a fight then be caught in it. This doesn't mean Sam doubts himself, it's actually the exact opposite. Sam feels that if he got into a fight, he'd beat the other guy so hard they couldn't stand or see straight.
When not around violence or alcohol, Sam is a rather cheery person; always singing random tunes, or strolling along the ship's deck holding conversations with other crew members. He hates being locked down below the ship, always cooking, and loves to be around other people. But the moment someone pushes Sam in even the slightest degree, his fuse blows. His temper blows quick and he gets violent rather... quickly.
Strengths-
Observation skills
Photogenic memory
Ability to make up songs?
Weaknesses-
Hard-headed
Aggressive
Gullible
Procrastinator
Likes-
Booze
The gals
Singing
Sleeping
Cookin'!
Yelling
Dislikes-
Orders (though he reluctantly follows)
Fears-
Getting thrown overboard
Running out of booze!
Blood
Rank:
Cook? :3
Other:
Irish hommie. :3
