WOO
my wig for pearl finally arrived! things are finally starting to come together. I only have like three weeks to finish up eek.

Is it a lot harder to sew with stretchy material? My mum seems to think so, but I feel like it would be so much nicer than the regular stuff for the particular peice I am making.

Yes stretch fabric can be a bit more tough to work with

Got a few more pieces for unikitty today, mostly ribbons and the base shoes
still need to grab a couple more things though. one more lot of ribbon and glasses- because references to business unkitty, and maybe a cardigan because the con is annoyingly in winter.
after that I can start crafting
horn, ears and shoes.

and fix my miraculous for magical girl chat noir

also started gathering stuff for a magical girl inspired ladybug cosplay as well.
got ribbons, and socks, and shoes. now just really need to make the dress and mask.

i don't remember my brand of spirit gum, however, make sure your gem is light enough to place on your forehead! i attempted a gemstuck nepeta once and the gem was far too heavy to stay on with spirit gum!!

My friend cosplayed Satan from Devil Is a Part Timer and I made her horns by sculpting paper clay which made them SUPER lightweight.

Then you go to home Depot or something - they sell these things were you screw in a base for a screw. That way you can literally screw the horns into a headband or something worn underneath the wig. I don't know what the piece you need is called. Ask someone for help. It's basically a little thing that is inside the horn that allows a screw to go in and be screwed back out as many times as you want without wearing the material away. The piece and the screw are made to fit each other and be used together.

The only thing is that the head of the screw rubbing against your scalp will hurt so you'll want to Bobby pin some fabric or gauze underneath the headband to protect your skin from the screw head.

Got most of what I need for unikitty now.
all I'm missing now is a dress
Ears are done, horn is sealed and just needs painting, shoes have had their second coat of paint, probably going to need a couple more to make them go from black to yellow. working on the ribbon bow tail thing. hopefully will get most of that lot done tomorrow along with fixing the ring for Chat Noir.
gloves got, glasses got.
contemplating making some fake canine teeth with fake nails for unikitty
