Rivernose cast Cherrynose a genuine smile as the young she-cat emerged, purring to her in her usual, feminine tone, "Good morning, Cherrypaw." As the two medicine cats exchanged greetings, Rivernose lifted herself to her paws, dipping her head towards the elder medicine cat, "Well, thank you again, Featherpelt. I'll talk to you later tonight, alright?" And with that, the she-cat padded off.
Approaching the deputy, Rivernose dipped her head, asking in her usual, blunt manner, "Do you need any extra paws?" She asked firmly, flexing her claws in anticipation, yet kept her expression indifferent.

The blood pounded in her ears, and before she knew it the other two were right beside her. She tried to dig her claws into the rock, but couldn't get a grip on the smooth hard side. She swiped at the two kits with sheathed claws, trying to avoid their blows while also trying to get them off.
