I just went and looked at some characters that I gave away to see how they were doing and I couldn't be happier.
two of the three I gave away have got new commissioned art pieces & custom pieces done by their new owners, all three have huge amounts of info and their own character pages, and they just seem very loved.
y'know, at first I was super skeptical about opening an adoption agency and cutting down on my characters - my ocs are like my brain children. they mean everything to me. I pour my heart and soul into each one, even if I don't really show it or do them much justice on cs & in rps (they're just too close to my heart for me to reveal everything about them.) I spend almost every waking hour thinking of things like "what would Penny be doing right now?," "I wonder how Lucifer would respond to that," "Violet would love that," "Ceil would totally wear that shirt," and that sort of stuff, or thinking of how I can develop them further. so giving some away, to completely random people? it was scary. hell, I found it terrifying! but now, I don't regret anything. I'm so happy I did it. those three characters are receiving so much more attention than I ever could've given them (because I've got over 400 to manage!) and it makes me a lot less worried about downsizing a little more.

Sad, but at the same time calm and feeling alright. My grandmother is dying in cancer and I wanted her to see the book of poetry I've been working with and she's been helping me with ... And I just feel like the cancer will take her away from me before she can see it.
