Her ears flicked as he approached, she had noticed him coming her way but chose not to look until he neared. She smiled at his compliment, though she herself found it hard to believe. She nodded to let him know it was okay with her if he stayed while she finished her meal. She had often found herself admiring this cat, not purely for his appearance, though he wasn't bad-looking. More for his demeanor, his mannerisms. He was always polite and respectful, rarely, if at all was he arrogant and he had always been especially nice to her. She figured he must like her, but wasn't quite sure what she had done to elicit that. I'm afraid I won't be much for conversation right now, she said quietly between bites but you're welcome to stay. She smiled with her eyes as she continued eating. Hoping he'd stay, hoping he'd do most of the talking so she could sit and listen, observe, learn.

Splashpaw

The bewildered she-cat followed her friend as he led her to the stream. Perhaps she shouldn't have said any of that, it obviously bothered him. She didn't speak until they had arrived at the stream.I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you. I shouldn't have put you on the spot like that. She paused and took in the stream before her; the early sunlight dancing on the surface, broken up only by the occasional stone peeking out from the bottom. The sound was soothing, like the constant murmur of a bunch of cats, low and indistinguishable. I can see why you like this place so much, it's peaceful, it's almost... She trailed off when she saw he was facing her, looking at her with something akin to awe. It puzzled her, but she was keen to not let it bother her. She decided to move on,About training, what you said earlier, yeah, we could practice climbing if it's okay with Ashstripe. She was determined to make him more comfortable around her, especially after the fumble earlier.

Sitting himself down next to the ginger tabby, Stormpaw turned his gaze from her and watched as the water rolled over the stones. Ever so quietly, the stream gurgled with the roll of a stone or the upturning of the water as it tumbled over a larger stone. Looking down into the water onto his reflection, he studied his appearance and looked for anything out of place that may make him look even more like a fool. Tail flicking from where he sat next to the shallow stream, the dark grey tabby tom quickly licked at his chest fur to fix his ruffled fur from when he had nearly run into Splashpaw. Ears swiveling as he listened to her voice, the young tom contemplated whether he should change the subject or continue the conversation, but started to panic at the thought of her feeling sorry for him. 'No, no! Please don't feel bad. I'm not upset, and you didn't offend me. You just didn't seem very interested in the option I first gave about hunting is all. If there is something else you would particularly like to do, maybe even in camp, then we could do that. We don't have to work on climbing if there is something else you would like to do." Pausing momentarily, Stormpaw watched the water before turning his gaze over his shoulder so that he could see the ginger tabby of his fancy. 'I agree though. This is my favorite part of camp. Its so calming and refreshing, especially during greenleaf when it is hot out.' Turning around to face her more fully, he positioned himself next to the stream where he could see it but still face her out of interest in their conversation.

Giving a delicate smile in delight as she agreed to have him join her while she ate, the fluffy ragdoll tom finally took a seat a little closer and gazed at the she-cat as she ate. 'You know, I have always admired how incredible you are at bird hunting. I am absolutely awful at bird hunting, so I find it admirable that you do it so easily.' Grinning at her before looking to the sky as a grow flew overhead, the fluffy white tom waved his dark brown tail before wrapping it over his paws. 'I also want you to know how serious I am when I say you look absolutely beautiful. I would say today, but it seems I find you looking more beautiful by the day, though even when your fur is a mess from sleep, you still look lovely.' Keeping his gaze to the sky, he watched the clouds above that were now painted pink and gold due to the sun creeping out of the horizon. 'You have been a splendid hunter since you were an apprentice, and I have always wished that I could be as good as you at hunting. I haven't seen anyone leap the way you do, so I suppose that is why you were given the warrior name of Lightwing, for your leaps that should only be capable if you have wings.' Realizing he was rambling on about her, he turned his gaze as he clamped his maw just and gave another smile while letting his tail dust the ground in front of him.

The molly always enjoyed fish, nodding excitedly.The apprentice enjoyed doing almost anything with her mentor, the one she trusts most. Since she was so small, she didn't fit in with the other larger apprentices, and was too shy to talk to them anyways. Looking around excitedly, she looked up at her mentor. "Creek?" The apprentice asked. She had never really been to the creek, may be an exciting moment or place to explore. She looked towards the forest, studying it to see if she could see the creek. Well, she couldn't exactly, since she was small and the trees were really big towards her.

Smiling at the queen's reply, he looked at her kits besides her. "Bundles of joy, aren't they?" He chuckled lightly, examining them. The kits he shall never have, comparing to hers, she seemed overjoyed, but something tells him she felt...just.. a bit broken for some reason. Shaking his thoughts, he curled his tail around his paws. "Hm,what are their names?" He asked, smiling as he continuously examined them. Looking at how they were, melted his heart with warmth, reattaching his gaze towards Daisyclaw. The ragdoll had a thing to calm him multiple times, being the soft one towards her. Not like he haven't to others, but the male enjoyed her company the most of all.

Oakfall nodded is head before he got up from where he sat, happy at her response in the matter of learning to fish. The brute of a tom lifted himself up onto his large paws and lifted his long, fluffy tail straight in the air with enthusiasm gleaming in his eyes. 'Then let's get going! I'm sure you will be splendid at it. Those little paws of yours will dart in and out of the water faster than the fish knew what hit them!' Waving his tail to signal that they were going to head out, but before heading for the entrance, he went over to Greyclaw to check up. 'Greyclaw.' He greeted the deputy with a respectful dip of his head. 'I am going to take Littlepaw to learn how to fish, so we will bring back at least a few fish for the freshkill pile. We will be back before the sunhigh patrol.' Dipping his head once again, he glanced to his apprentice and flicked his tail as he headed for the entrance of camp. Quickly exiting camp, Oakfall moved through the trees knowing that his apprentice would be close behind. As he wound through the trees and ferns, he pushed past a thicket for ferns that barred the way to the creekside, and made sure to leave enough room for Littlepaw. Just past the thicket of ferns, he stepped upon the creek bed and headed toward the water where it deepened. Glints of silver and brown reflected the early morning lighting, and the icy cold water gurgled as it flowed past the deep pool that was created alongside the creek. 'Alright, Littlepaw. This is where we will start. The fish are larger so that you will gain strength when you hook them with your paw, and they are slower so they will be easier to catch. Are you ready to learn?' Turning back to look at the white she-cat with brown patches upon her fur, the ginger tom awaited a response with his tail high in the air.

Looking toward the kits that rest against her thinning belly, Daisyclaw smiled and licked each one of the kits heads before speaking in reply to the grey tabby. 'They definitely bring a new flood of joy with each small bundle of fur. The medium sized tom nearest to my front leg, is Owlkit. Next to him is Frostkit, whom is the runt of the litter, with the brute of the litter, Beetlekit at her side. Last but not least, there is Cloverkit. Each fit their name perfectly in looks and in personality. Sadly, they won't have a father to look over them...' Letting off a heavy sigh, Daisyclaw groomed the kits one more time, taking more car with the longer hair to be sure to pull out any stray moss. Pulling herself out of the slight depressive state, she upturned her gaze onto the tom whom was visiting her and gave a very kind smile. 'Its too bad you don't have kits. You would make an excellent father and with you being such a spectacular warrior, you would make a great role model.' Her tail thumped on the floor before she pulled it behind her kits to keep the warmth as she angled her body more upright from where she was laying. 'Anyways, how is life outside of the nursery? I haven't been out of the nursery in a while. I love my kits and they are the joy in my life, but I have to admit... I can't wait till they are old enough to where I can have someone watch them while I stretch my legs...' Smiling, she looked down at her kits before giving a little huff of laughter and smiling at the tom.

She grinned gleefully, following her mentor for her practice of hunting. Padding towards the creek, the apprentice excitedly bounced place to place, examining what it looked like. Looking into the water to see her reflection, the molly nodded to his response and tips. Seeing a small minnow swimming around, the apprentice flicked her tail excitedly, wanting to feel the experience of hunting. "Ready!" The apprentice replied to her mentor excitedly, her tail flicking around the place as she settled down, sitting to listen to his words. Placing a paw in the water slightly, it felt cool, as if she wanted to jump around in the water, but then again that would just scare the fish. Even if she wasn't that big and the strongest, she rather hunt instead of fight sometimes really.

"Owlkit, Frostkit, Beetlekit, and Cloverkit. Great name choices if I must say so myself." He chuckled. I forgot that Daisyclaw lost her mate some time before. "Hm? Father..?" He muttered, pausing quickly. "I won't be the best or the greatest father if I must say so. And as well that I suppose, I guess I did have kits once." He muttered. "As great of a warrior a may be, I'm quite the hopeless and foolish cat to think that the kits I had was mine." He chuckled, a hint of pain was sealed in his words. "Oh, well, enough talk about me. Life outside the nursery...let's see. Quite normal, the clan's going well of course." He spoke, pulling a paw over his ear slightly."I could help you out watching them if you'd like. I may not be the most experienced, but I'd like to experience caring for kits for sometime." He offered. Of course, he couldn't be foolish enough to expect a cat to accept an offer like that from a tom that clearly has no experience at all, or even had kits to care for as well. Either that, that he didn't have any cat to care for, for them or himself. Smiling softly, the tom felt as if he was pretty selfish thinking about himself like that. "Guess all this talking was about me, must of came out selfish, hm?" He chuckled nervously.

Nodding in approval as she put her paw in the water, Oakfall got up and maneuvered his way across the rocks that stuck out from the waters surface. Crossing the creek without getting his paws wet, he climbed up on the other side and looked back to wave his tail, signally Littlepaw to follow. The large ginger tom headed a few tail-lengths down the creek till he was on an overhang that hung over the pool. Crouching at the edge of the overhang, Oakfall looked over as he curled his tail and patted the spot next to him. 'Do you see the glints of silver and greenish brown in the water?' His voice was quiet, as he didn't want to scare of the fish in any way. Turning his gaze to the water below, a large green blob moved back in forth in the water and a silvery flicker glinted in the other direction. 'Those are the fish, and you always want to go with ones that are directly below you with a swift paw. You curl your paw like you're scooping it up, and get your claws into the side of the fish. As soon as you feel your claws catch the fish, swipe all the way through, curving the swipe back toward your body. When you hook the fish and follow through, it will send the fish into the air and onto the ground behind you or beside you if you do it right. I will do it once to show you what I mean, then I want you to try it.' Smiling one last time, he focused on the water and the dark spots that swirled and reflected the light back into his blue-grey eyes. Suddenly, his large paw lashed out and curled into the water in a blur of fiery red and swung it in an arch. His paw returned from the water with a large trout draped over it as he scooped it out, launching it over his shoulder in one smooth motion that was as quick as a flash of lightning. Grinning, the brute stood up and padded to the green and pink fish, biting into its back and using a claw to slit its throat to kill it. Releasing it, he turned around and waved a tail proudly before he padded back to where he had been next to her and crouched down once again.'Alright. Your turn. Don't get frustrated it it takes a few tries. Practice makes perfect.' He nudged her with his shoulder comforting as he awaited the moment where she launched her paw into the water. If she fell in, he would immediately follow after her and pull her out just in case she wasn't the best swimmer.

Purring as he complimented the names, the molly looked at him kindly with interest in her eyes as she studied the toms expression. As he spoke of having kits, that ended up not being his, her head tilted and confusion dressed her face with the glimmer of curiosity flecking her eyes. Pulling her ears back, deciding it was best if she didn't pry, she shook her head in distaste with a look of disgust followed. "That is awful. If a she-cat would be willing to do such a treacherous thing to such a wonderful tom like yourself, then she is definitely not worth the heartache.' Not wanting to linger on the subject in worry that he would fall into a depressed state, she put a smile on her face and looked down at her kits. 'I would be honored to teach you about how to care for kits, and would be happy to have you help me watch them. That would be completely up to you if you wanted to waste your time in boring ol' me. I can't imagine that being any fun!' An amused look crossed her face and her tail waved more happily as she had veered the conversation away from the heart-wrenching topic. 'By the way.. You didn't sound selfish at all. Don't be so self conscious. I think you are absolutely delightful to have around, and self centered would be the last thing I would use to describe you.' Turning her large blue eyes back upon the tom, she smiled affectionately, the dark brown ragdoll markings that marked her face caused her eyes to contrast all the more.

Splashpaw

Reassured by her friend's comment that she hadn't offended him, Splashpaw relaxed and released a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. I'm cool with doing whatever you want, she said, then added, we can even go hunting if you really want. The ginger tabby smiled at him, glad that he seemed to have calmed and was freer in his speech than he had been around her as of late. She still couldn't figure that out, how he'd taken to being so unsure of himself when she was around. Obviously she couldn't ask him about it, he'd just clamp up. She'd just have to wait until he was ready to tell her what was going on. Oh, how she hated waiting. She decided to distract herself for the time being. Actually, she said, I'd really like to do battle training, if that's okay with you and our mentors. she hoped he'd agree, though if he didn't she wouldn't be too put-off. She really just didn't want to train alone today, and Stormpaw had always been a friend. She thought of the way he'd been nice to her ever since they were kits, and pieces began fitting together. Still though, she couldn't begin to imagine why he was all self-conscious around her.

Lightwing

She could feel her skin growing hotter as the tom rambled on, praising her appearance and her skills. She looked away, slightly frustrated with him for making her feel like this; embarrassed and flattered at the same time, slightly disgusted, and yet, slightly intrigued. She shook her head, it's just practice and hard work is all, nothing anyone else couldn't do. She mumbled the last words, trailing off a little, lost in thought as she caught sight of a tiny ball of fur near the entrance to the nursery; one of the kits, no doubt, straying just a little too far from their mother. She wondered what it was like, being a mother, having those tiny lives depend on you for food, shelter, warmth, love. She thought of those particular kits in that den, how they won't grow up with a father. If she were to have kits some day, would they have a father to raise them? Would she have to raise them on her own, like Daisyclaw? She hoped not, and anyway, kits were a long way in her future, if at all.
She turned back to Blizzardstep, saw he was still prattling on about her and began to fidget with her tail. He seemed to catch onto the fact that he'd gone on too long and abruptly shut his mouth. She grinned despite herself. So, he definitely liked her, that much had been proven in the last couple of minutes. The question now was what to do with that information. She decided it would be best not to act yet, as any action would seem hasty or rash, and to let things play out further. She wasn't sure of her own feelings, whether or not she saw him as just a clanmate or as something more remained to be seen. Best to see how far he was willing to take this.
By this time she had finished eating and was still looking at the white tom across from her. Small-talk. So, uh, what are your plans for the day? Training with Adderpaw, I assume?

Frostkit

A new cat had entered her nursery; a tom by the sound of his voice, and his presence was most unwelcome. Not only was he new and chatting with her mother, he was delaying her breakfast. Frostkit would not let her opinion go unheard and began slowly crawling away from Daisyclaw while making as much noise as her squeaky little voice would let her. She became tired after she had inched about half a tail-length away and lay down right there, her thin tail sticking out of the nursery entrance. She continued, however, to meow in disapproval of this uninvited visitor.

For a moment, he merely just stared at Splashpaw with a thoughtful look on his face, pondering the option of practicing his battle training with her. He wasn't exactly a great fighter, and it was exceptionally hard for him to attack someone without reason, as it went against every one of his morals. Whenever he learned how to fight, his whole body worked against him and ever muscle protested in response. Even though they weren't using claws, he was always more hesitant and it took a little work to get him into the rhythm of actually fully using his senses in order to learn while training. Tail flicking at the thought of possibly having to use his skills on the she-cat of his fancy, he pulled his ears back to hear the stream to sooth his nerves as he put on a fake smile. 'Yeah. Battle training sounds good. W-we could ask Ashstripe if he wants t-to go or if Hornetfang is suppose to j-just take us alone.' Pausing for a moment he perked his ears to listen for her voice before dropping his yellow eyes toward the ground as he spoke up once again. 'Thank you for spending time with m-me this m-morning... I really enjoy spending t-time with you.' His tail tip quivered so to hide it, he curled it over his paws to help himself feel secure.

Studying the sky as its pale pink colors grey more orange under the suns rays and the clouds drifted effortlessly overhead, the ragdoll tom flicked an ear as she asked the question. 'Yes I suppose I will be taking her to train today. The freshkill pile seems low so I may take her hunting, but if you don't mind, maybe we can take your apprentice and see how well they can hunt together. I would love to see how you put your warrior skills to work during training. Maybe a friendly competition?' Grinning at the thought, though not wanting to be prideful, he solely wanted to spend time with Lightwing and his apprentice. His apprentice was one of his favorite cats in the clan as he spent much time with Adderpaw, not to mention her name reminded him of the days when his sister was truly happy. His eyes shone with excitement at the very thought of testing their abilities. 'That or if you don't have plans today, we would do some hunting ourselves. If that is something you are interested in doing.' Turning his bright blue eyes upon the she-cat, he drew a paw to his muzzle and ran it over his cheek fur with his ears perked for her response.

Splashpaw smiled wide at Stormpaw's acceptance of her idea. She knew he wasn't the best fighter in the clan, she knew he actually didn't care for it that much, so she was even more thankful that he'd said yes anyway. Her smile grew warmer when he mentioned how he enjoyed spending time with her. Yeah, I like spending time with you, too. Her smile dropped to a contented grin as she sat next to him, for once, she didn't feel like she needed to say something. She felt oddly like anything she had to say, he'd already know. Like if she said she enjoyed the sound of him talking with the stream in the background, it would sound redundant because it was written on her face already. She was, however, itching to practice fighting, so she stood up. Why don't we go and see if Ashstripe's busy? Maybe he could take us and we could explain to Hornetfang when we get back! The ginger apprentice turned around and flicked her tail for Stormpaw to follow her. Come on!

Lightwing

At the mention of hunting, Lightwing's ears perked up instinctively. In her mind, she was grinning wildly when he talked about having a miniature competition. She knew that, aside from having her as his mentor, Crowpaw had a knack for hunting. She thought about Adderpaw, she hadn't really been on any hunts with the apprentice, so she wasn't sure of her abilities. Lightwing assumed, though, based on what she'd brought back on occasion, that she was decent enough. Ooh, a competition? I like the sound of that. I'll go and wake Crowpaw, then we can meet back here when we're ready. For some reason, when she was talking about hunting, it's like she forgot to be self-conscious or shy, she could become assertive and make decisions. Without waiting for a reply from Blizzardstep, she stood up and began to walk toward the apprentices' den.
On her way to fetch her apprentice, she saw other cats already talking and discussing what they would do today. She saw Splashpaw talking to Stormpaw over by the stream and smiled to herself. Cedarshade was with her apprentice, and She could hear the low tones of a tom in the nursery, and guessed by the cadence that Ashstripe was talking with the queen. She soon found herself at her destination, and headed quietly inside. Crowpaw? She called in a whisper, as her eyes adjusted to the dim light. She found her apprentice in a furry lump in his nest and prodded him with a paw. Crowpaw, we're going hunting. Meet me outside when you're ready. She carefully backed out of the den to wait on her groggy apprentice.

indentWith the sun high in the sky, the she-cat stretched her white paws in front of her, yawning wide. Pulling her paws back underneath her body so she was standing, Viperheart padded into the center of camp, feeling the rays of sunshine warm her back, soothing her muscles from the rough night of sleep. The she-cat had never slept well, as her senses were too heightened to relax. Her body always tense, she, more often than not, stayed up all night guarding camp. While she was tired at all times, she was too protective of her camp to allow herself long hours of sleep. Spotting Snaketooth, Vipertooth allowed her paws to carry her over to the male, a cat she trusted. Giving another small yawn, she meowed a good morning at him. "Morning, Snaketooth. I hope you've been well so far." While formal in words, she was genuinely curious at his well-being. His temper was one to watch, though she did her best to never anger him. He was a cat she both trusted and respected as a clan-mate.
