Torrentheart: 8/10. I really like the prefix, but I think the suffix -heart is overused.

Daywatcher: 7/10. I would recommend changing her prefix to Dawn, as day could be taken to mean any time of day.

Mapleshine: 9/10. I really like this name! It's simple yet sweet!

----------

My names:

Sparrowstep: A small brown tabby tom with a white underbelly. He is extroverted and loves to gossip about other clan cats, for which he is not very well liked.

Poppy: She was taken in by the clan after escaping from her owners and running across the Thunderpath, obtaining a broken leg in the process. She is a medicine cat apprentice, and while her leg will never be fully healed, she doesn't let that stop her.

Ratface: A thin Siamese cat, whose mother was dumped in the wild while she was pregnant. Although he is one of the best hunters in the clan, he is very vain and only thinks of himself.

[Side note, I am not traditional in the slightest so if you are a traditional rater, please keep that in mind ^_^]

Sparrowstep - 7/10
Nice name, but why -step? There should be some kind of reason for it, because with his small stature and high energy to talk, he doesn't really suit the suffix to me...
Poppy - 0/10
This is for warriors, not for Kittypet names.
Ratface - 8.5/10
I see where you were going with this name, and I think it works well for the cat.

Squirrelnose - 9/10
I like the name, and it suits the cat (:
Littleclaw - 10/10
Even though this name is kind of common, I find it adorable and really great for a name for any cat. Though you didn't give this specific cat a gender, and I kind of wish you did, but it wouldn't have affected my rating at all
Ploverpelt - 8/10
Eh, it just seems like a weird name to me, though it works here. I think it is just 'plover' that set me off to it being weird, at first, since it's uncommon to hear. I also don't know how going from warrior to medicine cat would work, necessarily, but I could foresee a couple of situations, so I like the uniqueness behind this name.

Blossomshine a pretty, rich brown and white she-cat, bright green eyes. Is usually high-energy and ends up scaring more prey than she catches by accident, though she has a great heart and wants to help all cats in every Clan, no matter what.
Brokenleaf a ginger and black patched tom, scars on his ears and legs, and amber eyes. Used to be a rogue with a band, with the name Broken. He had a mate named Leaf who died in a large battle with another group of rogues, and Broken was one of the only survivors; he and the others searched out Clans for safety.

Blossomshine: 8.5/10!
I love the name! I think the two words fit each other very wellc:

Brokenleaf: 6/10
The name is pretty good, but I don't think it fits warrior cats.

Flintblaze
- A smoky black tom with yellow eyes. He's very aggressive and short-tempered -
it was a great five years on this site. thank you to the community for being so welcoming and kind, it makes chickensmoothie what it is today. i hope everyone has an amazing time here as i did.

Flintblaze: 9/10
Not a personal favourite, but it sounds like a great name. I love that you incorporated his suffix with both his physical features and his personality.

Chalkfrost
- white-and-gray tom with blue eyes. Snarky and a bit of a recluse.

Hello there, everyone! I am a semi-tradition namer, I normally use traditional prefixes and suffixes, but will occasionally sheen away from the methods. Ex: Sometimes I'll use -blaze or Wolf- but very rarely ones like Soft- or Sweet- I will not rate traditionally if the name is non-traditionalThis is a really nice purple!!

I.C: Thank you! I'm constantly afraid to use prefixes like Frog- Slug- and Snail- because I'm afraid the names will be bashed.

Name Rates

Chalkfrost, 8.5/10, I don't mind Chalk- so much, as it's a mineral, but what does bother me a little is that chalk is dark white/very light grey, and it wouldn't be a problem if he had a few grey markings here and there, but he's white AND grey, so Chalk- may not be the best for him. I'm in love with -frost, though I usually associate it with a sleek or fast cat, but I sounds nice, and still makes sense.

My Names

Egretnose, a white molly with blue eyes. She is deaf, but she has learned to adapt, and the clans have come up with some ways to communicate with her. She has a good understanding of body language, and tries to do the right thing, whether it be good or bad by clan standards. Being deaf, she has increased skills in other senses, especially tracking. She is a bit full of herself.
Egret- for her pelt, -nose for her tracking skills.
Traditional

Darkstorm, a brown tabby tom with green eyes. He is a little naive and impulsive, and is optimistic most of the time. However, when it gets dark enough, he will be a realist. His personality and attack patterns border on unpredictable, which can be harmful and helpful.
Dark- for his dark pelt, -storm for his personality
Traditional

Troutheart, a tortoiseshell molly with green eyes who is brave and does the right thing- at least, what she thinks is right. To most cats, her sense of judgement is a little bit off but to her, it’s perfectly fine. She dislikes half-clan cats and outsiders, and has little patience for elders.
Trout- for her pelt, -heart for her sense of judgement

Important! Please read if you know genetics! These cats are from a fanfiction, and I want to maintain a sense of realism, so if there is anything wrong with the genetics, PLEASE tell me! Ex: Torties are hardly ever male, and if they are, they usually have 'problems' that could interfere with clan life, same with calicos, ect.

Also, if any of the descriptions are a little awkward, that is because they are taken from my fanfiction, some were loners and rogues and have been edited to receive a clan name

Egretnose ~ 4/10 ~ The name isn't too bad, but the prefix 'Egret' doesn't sound like it would be used in Warriors. I like the suffix 'nose', though.

Darkstorm ~ 8/10 ~ I love the name, but I personally think both the prefix and the suffix would be better for a dark gray cat. But that's just my opinion.

Troutheart ~ 7/10 ~ The name could be a bit better, but I do like her personality.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Silversnow ~ A white she-cat with dark gray and lighter gray spots, green eyes ~ Reason for prefix: Coloring. Reason for suffix: Her older sister Snowpaw, who died in battle.

Tigerfrost ~ White she-cat with black stripes and ice-blue eyes ~ Reason for prefix: She looks like a white tiger. Reason for suffix: Coloring. ~ Side note: She is in a Clan called WildClan, where every cat represents a wild animal of some sort. She represents the White Tiger.

Pinewhisker ~ Reddish-brown she-cat with blue eyes ~ Reason for prefix: Coloring. Reason for suffix: She has long whiskers.

Waspnose : Big fan of wasp-, and nose fits him nicely. 10/10

Minnowpelt : Flows quite fine. Nothing wrong here. 10/10

Cloverwhisker : HUGE fan of when people use the clover- prefix right. Suffix is good, too. A bit of a mouthful, but I won't dock it any points for that. 10/10

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Blackleaf : A fluffy, elderly molly with black fur and green-yellow eyes. Previously a skilled medicine cat. She is snappy, insulting, and has strong opinions on how something should be done.

Hawktail : Brown tabby with white. They are very agile and good in the trees. Very social, has no sense of privacy.

Blackleaf: Really like the sound and imagery of this name. Matches the character's physical and personality traits nicely. 10/10

Hawktail: I'm very happy to see the use of the suffix tail-, since many members of the fandom seem to stray away from this when creating fan characters in favor of more "extravagant" names. It also fits the character very well. 10/10!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

(I only have one lol)

Snowleap: Pale gray spotted tabby she-cat with a white underbelly and a thick, fluffy coat. She is very energetic and outgoing. Known for her skill in hunting hares.

Rosecloud- Aaaa, I'm a sucker for the -cloud suffix! This name suits the cat very well also! 10/10
Shellfur- I'm not too particularly fond of shell- but it does describe the Tom rather well. 8/10
Badgernose- It's an okay name for some reason I imagined a cat with a badger for a nose.... I need help and the prefix badger- works rather well. 8/10

My Names
Foxcloud; Foxcloud is a quiet, rather shy Tom who often prefers to stay in the background and is almost never the center of attention. He is swift, rather jumpy and is a pretty good hunter. He is a red-russet colour with a few darker stripes on his back, a plumy white tipped tail, large ears, small white paws and a white chest. He has pale Amber eyes and a slightly pointed muzzle, with long, translucent whiskers. He loves to help the queens and play with the kits when he has spare time, and actually has a dream that he wishes to become deputy, though he thinks he won't have a chance. He is also very lightweight, which doesn't help him much in his rank of a warrior.

Honeystorm; Honeystorm is a medium furred golden tabby shecat with icy blue eyes, a long, fluffy tail, tufted ears and a pale muzzle and paws. She is extremely bouncy, random and loves to play, if a little bit immature. She can be kind and gentle when needed, but is also rather feisty, sassy, and had an unpredictable temper which can make her rather judgemental and argumentative. The senior warriors don't always have patience with this newer warrior, but sometimes force is what can make her listen. She is very loyal and will willingly fight for her family, friends and clan, but if she doesn't like you, she makes it very clear.

Riverwish; A loyal Mapleclan medicine cat, Riverwish is a quiet, gentle and friendly shecat who is very good at what she does. She has a habit of wishing a lot, but will never tell anybody about that habit. Only her leader knows... Riverwish is a bullseye printed silver tabby, with darker swirled markings covering her body. She has dark blue, nearly indigo eyes and small, pointed ears. She doesn't have much interest in romance, either, and some of her clanmates say that that makes her a better medicine cat,but she doesn't think so. With full faith in Starclan, she will always turn to them for guidance rather than to any living cat.

Re: Rate the Warrior Name! { v3 ;; read rules. }

Postby hollyglow » Thu Apr 28, 2016 10:32 am

{Note: I prefer to use a semi-traditional naming style. While I believe the names should have something to do with the cat, I think the prefix can be anything from the place they were born to something that happened when they were born to being named for another cat. The suffix generally should be something about the cat, but it doesn't have to be obvious. This is how I rate things, and how I come up with names.}

Foxcloud-6/10. It's a fine name, and the prefix fits very well. I'm just a bit unclear on the suffix.

Honeystorm-6/10. I do like how it sounds. However, 'honey' doesn't seem like a perfect name to give a golden cat. Honey has more of an amber color, so assuming she was named for her pelt color, it doesn't quite work in my eyes. As for the suffix, it seems to match her personality. However, storm seems like a better suffix for an angry or brooding cat, rather than a cutting one.

Riverwish-5/10. While the prefix suits her fur, the suffix seems random, chosen principally for its lyrical sound. While she may have a habit of wishing, cats are rarely named after their habits. If, for example, she had a habit of licking her shoulder when she was nervous, you wouldn't name her Rivergroom.

My names

Stormheart-Stormheart is a fiercely protective young warrior. She was initially named for her dark gray fur. She has dark blue eyes and a slight figure, and walks with a slight limp from where she was injured defending a kit from a fox as an apprentice. This partially contributed to her suffix, but it mainly stems from her intense yet loving, caring nature. Although she is not yet mellow enough, one day she'll make an excellent queen.
