He paused and his fox-ear flicked.
"I did actually. I seriously hope it's not Jess..." He set Wern down.

"Ah! Jay! You're gonna crush me! But seriously! Do you hear that or not?" Wern asked

Wern flicked her ears again, "Nope, it's not actually. It Ramen girl. And she crying, on the other side of the forest. No way I can make it in my house cat form though... That's it! This is the perfect test for it!" Wern meowed excitedly.

He shifted into a lion-species, it had better stamina and speed.

"No you ding-bat! Just wait and see!" Wern closed her eyes and sucked in a breath. She imagined long fangs, short tail, and the short ears she loved so much. She felt her body grow, her teeth lengthened, tail shortened and ears round and sharp. She opened her eyes.
