How long have they been a vampire?:
Dahlia remembers very little of her life before she was turned, excluding pain.Dahlia was not even her birth name, her mother never gave her one and normally called her obscene names. Her birth mother had never wanted her, having fallen in love with a male that had never once returned her love. She had thought bearing a child with him would change him. It did not. In fact, it had made the male despise her and leave her behind after a heated argument. Dahlia's mother had always blamed her, treating her little more than the trash she claimed Dahlia was. For a good portion of her youth, Dahlia did little more than try her best to become something more to her mother than garbage. She resorted to thievery, stealing food, gems, jewels, clothes, anything she could find and gift it to her mother. Her mother all the while taking these things and wearing them or selling them, but never treating her daughter any better than for half a day or so. Eventually Dahlia was caught, the guards taking her to her mother, whom stated she had no daughter. Misery set in as Dahlia was tossed into a cage to serve her time, left in the middle of a street to be egged, stoned, or have rotten fruit and veggies thrown at her. For several days she remain in her prison, until one cold and snowy night, when not a sound from the city could be heard...

A quiet figure had approached her, magnificent emerald eyes pierced through the darkness and drew her gaze. A beautiful female stood before Dahlias cage, emitting a power that had caused such conflicting emotions within Dahlia. She was afraid of the female, but also in awe of her. Perhaps like one would be of a God, should they stand in their presence. Averting her gaze, Dahlia close her eyes, expecting the female to be there only to taunt her or harm her in some way or other. For the longest moment there was nothing but silence between them, an anxiousness filling Dahlia. She felt her fur standing on end, that tingling power that the female emit was leaving her shaking. She was inside of a metal cage, but yet she still felt like cornered prey. "Please, do not be afraid..." Came a voice which left Dahlia gasping. Her heart fluttered, eyes locking once more with those lovely emeralds. " You poor...poor...child. I've watched you for the longest time..." The female spoke, her eyes never leaving Dahlia. " Your mother should be ashamed...To be blessed with such a magnificent child...so willing to please her....When there are others which are denied these blessings..." The words had gone from soft, to harsh, then back to soft again. Dahlia simply did not know how to react...She had moved to avert her gaze, only to have the female speak again. " Don't look away..." The words were a command, and Dahlia obeyed them, looking back to the female. " I can free you from this life...give you all the love you could ever need...I would never treat you as anything less than the precious gift that you are. Dearest child, I would be the mother which you seek...if you'd only allow me..." There was a longing in the females tone which caused Dahlias heart to ache. She did not doubt that the female was telling the truth. Dahlia felt tears rising in her eyes, then, she wanted this kind of love...appreciation. She wanted a mother who would be good to her and treat her like she belonged. Like she was more than just trash... " Yes, yes. " Dahlia spoke. " I promise I'd be a good girl..." As she spoke, she watch a smile curl along the maw of the female, loving...yet sinister at the same time. A slow growth of fangs seen, then, just as the female move forward. " I know you will..." Spoke the female, the bars of the cage bent apart like they were little more than blades of grass..."Wait..." Dahlias ears lowered, her back against the cage bars and eyes wide with fear. " Don't worry, Darling...I promise...this will be the only time I ever hurt you..." Gave the female, just before she sank her teeth into Dahlia.

Those words were true enough. For hundreds of years Dahlia's new mother, known only as Mother, has kept her happy, taught her, been good and kind to her. Dahlia was given her new name due to her lovely colors that matched the dahlia flower. Times have changed and Dahlia has entered the more modern world, her mother choosing to rest for a few years. Dahlia does not remember the exact length of time she has been a vampire, but it has been far more than 400 years. The entire time she has been treated as a princess. Her mother caring deeply for her, as if she were her own child.

Selena wasn't born a vampire, when she was close to becoming a teenager and had developed her first crush. (who was the vampire) They had bitten her, turning her into a vampire over night when she had been told to meet them. Selena hadn't taken too well to it, she was grief stricken and traumatized. Her trust in others had been stripped of her that night and so had her ability to be close to normal, which was something she wanted to be since she was a pup. Selena was one to be bullied, and sure after she had been locked away for a while because of her turning and her body reacting and going into a bloodlust. She had gained her revenge on her bullies and made them her throlls, but she pays the price for being a vampire. She outlives her lovers and has the need to feed off of most around her, but she is normally a kind soul. But now she is a guarded soul who is lonesome and wishes to have a friend to protect and be okay around.
